    IB

I was suspicious when I first started getting fills from TMBR because of the affiliation. But truth be told, they've pretty great fills, at least so far. I personally don't care who fills the trade as long as it's immediate and at my price.

IB - fractional cent limit order entry?

I think that these message boards have really helped in getting IB to make constructive changes. They have really started to 'get it' regarding customer service, and iit seems that they are listening to suggestions and acting on them. More of the IB discussion has moved to the new IB board...

    I have some trades I wish would disappear...but we won't go there. Sorry, couldn't resist. :) 99

    IB's new Forum

Well until/unless there's someone from IB who is responsible for timely responses to the new posts on the new board , seems like a waste of time to even go there. Better off to just post here. I think IB resources would be well spent in having someone actively involved on the board though...

    Ameritrade to buy Datek

I just listened to the AMTD/Datek conference call. When pressed by an analyst as to whether or not Datek's commissions would be raised to bring them into line with AMTD's (which are 50% higher for limit orders), AMTD management said that the financial projection assumptions included no pricing...

    Qcharts 4.2 problem

Mike Condra posted this to the Silicon Investor thread. So much for thorough beta testing. Yet another QCharts fiasco. They just can't get it right. 99 http://www.siliconinvestor.com/stocktalk/msg.gsp?msgid=17297720 To:Chris Cooper who started this subject From: Michael Condra...

    IB Improvements (Part 3)

I'd love to see the following feature added to TWS, that's listed on TradeStation's web page: The Show Only feature is designed to allow you to enter a sell order for 5,000 shares, for instance, but have fewer shares (let's say 500) show up on the Level II screen. While your actual order...

    Barrons 7/2/01: Direct Access Showdown

Barron's new issue published a revised "What it costs, what you get" addendum table that includes IB (which it erroneously left off last week) although I don't know where they got the commissions which are listed as $5 for both a market and limit order. Following is an excerpt from this week's...

    IB Downtime

The IB room is on the Othernet. There are several servers, but try Warren.MS.US.Othernet.org, Philadelphia.PA.US.Othernet.org or Oslo.NO.EU.Othernet.org to name a few. The room is #InteractiveBrokers. 99

    IB Improvements (Part 3)

I use a third party application to do that. I use it to grab my transaction histories from various brokers including IB. It has different reports and options for reviewing/searching through your trades and results but one of the features I like best (besides dealing with the different methods...

    Barrons 7/2/01: Direct Access Showdown

"Although they didn't include IB in their "What It Costs, What You Get" section. Not sure why." I emailed the reporter and she responded that she's not sure how it happened. IB was included in that table in the manuscript and draft she received. She also noticed it when she looked at the...

    IB Improvements (Part 3)

To date we've pretty much focused on suggestions to improve TWS software. IB has certainly come a long way toward making those improvements. Just so that they don't run out of things to do since they've implemented so many of the suggestions (LOL) I'd like to suggest that they focus more on...

    I love this country

"This country is filled with the spirit of so many free thinkers who are so strong. Close as many threads, censor whatever, delete as many posts as you like, it won't stop the thinkers from reasoning." Exactly. The word will get out. Like a hydra, cut one head off and 2 will grow back in...

No the thread won't be the same without Def, but maybe Def would agree to move to another more hospitable venue where he won't be censored. I can't imagine that most wouldn't follow. 99

    def II

Baron, Earlier you closed the IB Improvements part 2 thread, but not before having removed a post of mine that talked about the censorship of Def. The alleged reason: the thread was too long. Is that your reason for closing the "def censored...that sucks ..post your opinion " thread?"...

def censored...that sucks ..post your opinion

"Perhaps I'm naive, but I find it troubling that different rules apply to advertisers than regular posters. I realize this is not the Wall Street Journal, and accepted rules of journalistic integrity do not apply. Still, you create a dangerous precedent when advertisers can use the boards to...
