    Question about slippage and Fidelity

My biggest annoyance with Fidelity is that the cost basis in ATP only updates once a day. Other than that, I think they're great. I tend to use Fidelity for my longer term swing trades and IB for day trading.

    Question about slippage and Fidelity

To be fair, if you're day trading with Fidelity, you'll be in the $8.00 commission category, or at least the 10.95 one. http://personal.fidelity.com/products/trading/Commissions_Margin_Rates/Commissions_Margin_Rates.shtml.cvsr

is there any money left to take markets higher ?

This is the "trading" forum, not the "day trading" forum. A multi-month position is still a trade.

Ron Paul says healthcare not a right

So you're against welfare. Yet you have no problem with others paying increased insurance premiums to subsidize your treatment. I wonder if you'd look at things differently if it turned out to be more than "nothing but gas". Perhaps something that required months of treatment and long term...

Ron Paul says healthcare not a right

Yes, but thunderdogs post, to which I was replying, was in response to angrycat. I thought his post was funny and I was simply continuing the banter. I wish I hadn't bothered now.

Ron Paul says healthcare not a right

How about those that move to the US from another country? How about those that lose their employer subsidized insurance through no fault of their own? How about a dozen other scenarios that leaves people looking for insurance with a pre-existing condition?

Ron Paul says healthcare not a right

So just like the US then? ;) But thank you for the clarification on NHS coverage. I was unaware of that.

Ron Paul says healthcare not a right

Insurance is also available in the UK, so yes, people do have a real choice. They can also be sure they will never have to choose between treatment and bankruptcy.

Ron Paul says healthcare not a right

In the UK you have a choice. If you feel the National Health Service is not meeting your needs, you can pay for private medical care. But there is always the peace-of-mind that you will never have to declare bankruptcy due to medical bills.

Ron Paul says healthcare not a right

If only it were that simple. How about this scenario... You worked hard for a living and you have health care and life insurance. You did not go to college. You did not ask for handouts and you are covered. You were unfortunate enough to contract a serious illness after which your insurance...

    socialized medicine another failed experiment

Unless you determine "best" as being the most responsive to those with health insurance, then those links show that the US is NOT the best. Also of note, is the US is the only country in the developed world, with the exception of South Africa, that does not provide health care for all of its...

    socialized medicine another failed experiment

How about the World Health Organization? http://www.photius.com/rankings/healthranks.html ... or the University of Maine http://dll.umaine.edu/ble/U.S.%20HCweb.pdf By the way, it's ironic that you misspelt prevalent in the same sentence you called someone ignorant!

When are we going to wise up and call the health care industry the SCAM that it is

Yep. Right up to the point you are seriously injured in a car accident, diagnosed with cancer or some other life threatening illness. (God forbid) Unless you are 300 years old, the money you've saved on premiums won't cover much when it comes to treating the above.

House Members Get Flooded With Calls Supporting Bailout Plan

I'm hoping you were joking but just in case... You were all for the bailout on Friday when the S&P closed at around 1213. Today, the S&P closed at 1164 and you're against it because the market is up so big? Yup, that makes sense.
