    it probably depends on the amount of risk you are taking + maximum drawdown you are likely to have, adding contracts is all mathematically i think, there shouldn't be a fixed dollar amount per contract for trading ES in general, it depends on how a person trades.

    ...i am still not understanding how the orders get filled: lets say i have a sell stop at 100, then a buyer buys my contracts at 100 - after he/she buys - there is a sale at 99 and then the price falls lower, but it never went over 100. - isn't this how it works? and if yes, wasn't my stop...

    as far as i noticed with NQ - the fills usually aren't too bad with market orders, maybe an occassional 1 or 2 tick slippage - but with ZN, i agree that market orders should not be used. and thank you very for the advice....i could really use it!
