    ProfLogic's Method

Are you trying to learn this method or create your own? Either is fine, as long as you know which. Again, READ the forum. ProfLogic has said the LABELS on chart N are produced from the ERG(N-1). So how would you do that with this indicator? It should be apparent. . .

    ProfLogic's Method

My 1st comment is that it sounds like you haven't studied the difference between "Trending" & "Trading" settings. If 2401 is your chart N (using my language) then the Trending ERG calculates the ERG(N) while Trading calculates an equivalent ERG(N-1). Has it occurred to you to add the...

Ahh! for some reason, I had learned to call both of these "divergence" as negative & positive divergences. . . Thanks !

    ProfLogic's Method

ProfLogic, to make sure I understand the terms being used: A failure in this context means a PPF LH, Match =H, or BreachPPF, correct? Which is any price before reaching a new HH. Divergence is when (Long) the Hist or ERG peaks are getting lower while price is getting higher. What is...

    ProfLogic's Method

Well, as long as we are making assumptions, here is my current view: Given three fractally related charts, assuming that N represents the exponent of the Trading chart fractal (middle one at 7**N Volume), then the Strength(N+1) ERG is rising. The rules on p10 say Histogram, but a later post...

I am glad you got it working. Now you can practice importing again! :D I found another flipping tracking error. Anyone using this on the 16807 ES this morning should have seen a problem. All you have to do is import & re-apply indicators.

    ProfLogic's Method

You have to remove the indicator with errors before importing or compiling. If you try to compile any indicator in NT, it should provide a message as to which indicator (.cs file) is the problem. There is a Ninjatrader support forum for these kinds of questions. You can continue the...

I fixed a couple of stupid errors in the tracking. Sorry about that. I hate stupid errors. No changes to variables, so you won't notice a difference (unless errors were showing in your log) :)

On-topic, I am starting to watch for setups and noticed this happening... The Strength doesn't show but I think the rest is covered. The first attempt would have been a wash, I think, but the second did much better. Any comments on the interpretation?

    ProfLogic's Method

Sounds like you need some experience with Ninjatrader. Open the indicator window, and select ERG_PL. There is one required input parameter -- you select Trending or Trading for the type of ERG to plot. (If you do not understand this, please search the forum and study the ProfLogic material...

    ProfLogic's Method

I updated the ERG_PL indicator for Ninjatrader to correct a tracking error and add the Primary Trend logic. This should do it for a while. Now it is time for a lot of screen time. :D Happy Trading!

Just in case, anyone else was interested, the April 9th Whatif ? in my scribbled graphics A, B, and C are all yes. Which means Highs are not part of the PF Bar series confirmation requirement. Thank you, ProfLogic. Your generosity & time are much appreciated!

    ProfLogic's Method

I have some questions on the PF series. Referencing the chart from Insearch's post, I understand the illustrated white space requirement to identify the PF Bar(s). What about the other end? For example, Support looking for a long entry: Must ? PPF+1(High) > PPF(High)? e.g...

    ProfLogic's Method

Yes, this is an issue I have with the Zen-fire data feed because there is no continuous contract. The longer term charts, I think, need a lot more days of data than I can get right now. The 2401 seems ok, but I have concerns about anything longer having sufficient bars.

    ProfLogic's Method

If you are running Vista, 1G is no where NEAR enough (IMHO) -- it is barely marginal for XP Pro. If XP Pro, the OS cannot utilize all 4 GB (addressing issues), if you have Vista, consider getting 8 G if you multi-task or run several charts at once. Best of luck!

    ProfLogic's Method

With ProfLogic's permission, here is a Ninjatrader version of the Ergodic that will draw labels & zigzag lines on the chart. It is based off Whiskey's version, with modifications derived from the ELD code. Not ALL of the ELD is implemented. By setting the flag to false, it will use the...

Software Used to Trade Jack Hershey Methods

I realize not many here will need this, but I thought I would share it anyway. I liked Pepe's Clock and being able to set it to Eastern time, so I pulled it from his toolset and made a standalone version. This ClockTimer includes either the timer countdown if minute/second bars or volume...

    ProfLogic's Method

It doesn't hurt to study the TSI to understand how to assign the parms. It is actually rather easy to follow. I got this from the TASC article by William Blau on his True Strength Index (TSI) TSI = 100* EMA( EMA( C-C1, Slow ), Fast ) / EMA( EMA( ABS(C-C1), Slow ), Fast ) Signal...

Thanks, palinuro!! That's what I wanted to confirm. Then it seems to me that, just to get started, the Strength(N+2) indicator can be reproduced below the TradingDecision(N+1) chart & a separate price chart is not needed.
