Is it too late to become a daytrader at 30?

LOL...I did say the above...you said something else. At this point I'll assume you are trolling and bid you a farewell! PS LMAO @ "Frugal living in a 3rd world country" - if all else fails, you have a good shot at being a comedian...lol. ;)

Is it too late to become a daytrader at 30?

I did not say this. It makes me wonder whether you are actually trying to have a constructive debate or whether you are simply trolling when you completely misquote me... We'll have to agree to disagree on the correlation between success and integrity of knowledge :) Re: "So, you have 11+...

Is it too late to become a daytrader at 30?

Umm...no. My success, or lack thereof, has nothing to do with the integrity of the comment that I made. Good advice can come from bad practitioners and bad advice can come from good practitioners. All I will say is the aforementioned qualities are all you need to succeed. The result isn't...

Is it too late to become a daytrader at 30?

That depends...is he like "most people"? If you have enough perseverance, grit, determination and humility (to admit when you need to change course) it is highly likely you will succeed.

what are your professions beside being a trader?

Ha! LONG time since I heard THOSE names! (Amiga 500 and commodore 64)...God, I'm getting old :)

How certain are you of the trades you place?

There is an inherent problem in this oft-used analogy which seems to be overlooked. The cheetah doesn't get to see, with absolutely no uncertainty, which of the "kills" would have resulted in success anyway, even if it was deemed less than high probability. The trading landscape is mentally...

How many years are necessary to consider yourself a successful trader?

Thanks for clarifying...it dawned on me that that could have been what you meant as I made my way upstairs to the PC (was on the mobile/cell before). Can I take a moment to say that I LOVE the word "discombobulated"?! lol. On emotional responses: I completely agree. For me, awareness through...

How many years are necessary to consider yourself a successful trader?

I'm not sure what the "no" was aimed at as you've pretty much rehashed one part of my argument.. :) The other part, was the distinction between being the catalyst for changing emotion in an audience (as a performer) as opposed to being an observer of the collective emotion (what I call "the...

How many years are necessary to consider yourself a successful trader?

I found your comment really interesting (re: dancing and music). Having been heavily involved in the dance/performance industry for 19 years and counting, I realized - some years into my trading journey - that, for the most part, my experiences as a dancer, dance teacher & performer were working...

How many years are necessary to consider yourself a successful trader?

This was going to be the basis of my comment! Definitive "success" can only, sadly, be declared when you are dead and and all the chips have been counted... ...or you could define success over a given period of time/sample size. But I think most people are looking for the former.

How many years are necessary to consider yourself a successful trader?

Good points! I resonate with that last point in particular. It took me a while to understand that capital not lost is "more important" than capital not gained (opportunity cost). Mathematically, they are the same but, for a reason I can't articulate well, I agree with the emphasis on...

Looking back over my journey = NAUSEA!

Hey all, Just wanted to let everyone know that, through all the personal HELL I've been through in the last couple of years or so (those who have read my posts from late '16/early '17 will know what I'm talking about..), I've still managed to find myself back into a FUNDED account at TST...

Looking back over my journey = NAUSEA!

Interestingly, 88% (87.99..) of the last two weeks of profits came from short trades. 58.33% of the trades taken were shorts... I'd love to be able to get the stats for the prior two weeks too but I lost all my data after having Windows 8 go corrupt on me!
