Where did the "90% are losers myth come from?

First, you lose the commision - money goes to your broker. Second, you lose the spread - money goes to maker maker. Third, you lose to insiders - money goes to a nephew of the typist that prepared the earnings report. Fourth, you lose by paying for software, books, courses etc...

    Pattern Day Trading Loophole??

Brilliant idea! But you pay double commission and I don't think it is legal to trade with yourself (not that I think you will be caught or actively prosecuted, the prohibition is to prevent price manipulations - much more serious matter than PDT violation).

    Quest for market data feed

Speaking of start-up: what are the costs involved? - Renting data storage servers OpenTick boasted 10TB of storage, thats about 10 servers. Add another 10 servers for redundancy and overhead. That's 20 servers at $200/month = $4000/month. - An average consumer pulls ~0.5 MBit/sec...

Why you struggle if you have 99.99% chances you won't even make a living by trading?

Because I have 99.999% chance not making a living in any other occupation. I'm plainly a loser and so are many ETers. All jobs have some requirements. Except trading. Anyone can click "Buy" and "Sell".

Legalities of selling EOD or delayed tick data?

opentick.com used to do exactly that (for free). They closed down, and some speculate one of the reasons was they had frictions with the exchanges.

Recommendations for OverClocked PC custom builder?

Serious 40-50% overclocking can indeed lead to instability, overheating and require expensive high quality parts. However, modest 20-30% overclocking is absolutely safe, doesn't need any special hardware or cooling. You only need to change 3-4 settings in the BIOS. Google it or ask any...

    Commissions are becoming ridiclous

Try a broker that charges fixed price no matter how many shares. Ameritrade for example. 100 shares or 10,000 shares - you still pay $10. Good for penny stocks of shitty little companies like Citibank or General Motors :)

Why Is The Obvious Not So Obvious?

You want to compete against market maker in your retail account? But you pay about 1 cent commission on each trade, while market maker pays nothing. These days, 1 cent equals 0.2% to 1% for most "blue chip" stocks. It's tough to earn 0.2% on each trade in a market making strategy :)...
