I just talked to IB , they say its possible but once u are short EC futures and LONG EURUSD, and the price moves against ur short, the profits gained in ur forex trade wont effect the margin requirements of EC if u are about to get a margin call. Maybe I heard it wrong but thats what i got...

Can any broker answer my few questions here? 1) If i have to trade both forex and futures at the same time with the same platform, does that mean fundsfor both futures and forex would be the same and can be used?

Yes I agree but if u are Long and Short both with the same gain/loss per tick, that means if u are winning on EC u are losing the same on EUR or vice versa, the funds would be still the same. Dont u think so? I just want to hedge it to get the intrst paid daily if u know what i mean.
