    Divorce and trading

I'd like to hear form anyone who went through divorce while they were trading. After almost 20 yrs, I am getting a divorce. I'd like to know if there's anything that really stood out during the inevitable increase in stress and emotions. I have already made the decision to stop trading...

    Lost From Top

Go home after you make the easy money. Try it, you might like making $4k-$10k/month. Hmmm...$48k - $120k/year. What do you make now? I wonder if any of you beginners have actually taken my advice when it comes to this topic. I think there's been at least 2 or 3 posts like this in the last...

How small do you trade after a decent size loss?

was a fluke or did you break rules? if it was a fluke, then forget about it & keep trading. if you broke rules, then trading smaller probably won't help... try not watching for a little bit and take a deep breath. then come back with a big grin and kick some ass.

Yet another stupid Q about multi monitor setups

Yup - plug and play. I'm good to go! I didn't even have to load drivers or anything. I had no idea that if you have a video card with both vga and dvi ports, that you can have a dual monitor setup. Pretty cool. Now, do you have Monday's WSJ? That'll really help too. lol Thanks...

Yet another stupid Q about multi monitor setups

Luckily Hanns G sent both cables, the vga and dvi cords. When I get home, I'll try it out and let ya know.

Yet another stupid Q about multi monitor setups

Yes and Yes! I think it came out to less than $100 after rebate. So now what? I have VGA and DVI ports. Can I use 2 monitors? One on each type or port? Thanks for your help.

Yet another stupid Q about multi monitor setups

I have only one vga slot. But there is a dvi slot also. My Q: Can I use a second monitor only using the dvi slot or is the dvi slot somehow paired to the one vga slot? Thanks for any help.

    Who's your trading idol?

Lenny Dykstra the former baseball player? yup, for the Mets. lol...just one quote from the article: "Who's this dumping 170,000 shares? It's brutal. I'm gonna find this mofo." Sounds like he invests/trades like he played ball. He was a scrapper for sure.

Justifying the cost of the Bloomberg Terminal

I'm not sure if they still offer this, but, the best way I found is to setup a series of training sessions with them. They used to send an acct rep for onsite training sessions on how to use the terminal to best suit your needs/mkts. Or you can visit them at their offices on Park ave. do it...

Justifying the cost of the Bloomberg Terminal

If you run with the big dogs, you need every edge you can get. If you're a sniper, no need for a bazooka. All depends on your level of play. If you make $1,500 on a trade cuz of bloomberg, isn't it worth it? OTOH, if you do not need all of their features, why bother? The bloomberg is...

First Call on Thomson, Trak Data, Reuters, etc

They are one of the tightest firms, yes. When we used their service, it was through the old ILX system and we had access to FC Notes. It was arranged through a hedge fund we also worked with in the same building. You could try calling someone in a hedge fund if you know them and possibly...

Is it possible to automate the exit only?

I am not a programmer, so I was hoping someone here might be able to help. I've seen some apps like ButtonTrader that does some of these things but all. concept: - manual entry* - auto exit - variables determined by user. ie: trailing stop, gap exits, absolute targets, scaling out, etc...

Need opinions on new flat panel monitor (19"+)

Thanks for all the input. I hope I get lucky - now it's beginning to sound like a lottery. I guess that's what I get for trying to get a 19" lcd for this cheap. If this doesn't work out, I'll be buying a brand name with better warranty. Still, I guess it's worth a shot for the price of a...
