What mouse and keyboard do you use?

You will not say that when your keyboard/mouse suddenly fails. :D Good tools need a good carpenter. But good tools alone won't lead to success.

    Dell 30 inch monitor

I know much about graphic cards. I do some research myself. I would recommend you using HD series cards from ATI. Any modern HD series card will suit your needs. In addition, you can get it as low as $14.99!! I know someone who is using similarly big size too with HD cards achieving great...

Using 2 ISPs to ensure 100% uptime, possible??

That would be an acceptable solution. How fast is your wireless ISP? What plan do you use? If you open your broker's like IB TWS or X_Trader and some charting software and try to close the trades with your wireless networks, do you experience some slowdowns or delays? Thanks. :)

Using 2 ISPs to ensure 100% uptime, possible??

What is Guardian? A software? What's the URL? Would you describe how exactly the process goes? 1. ISP A is down 2. ??? 3. Reconnect to X_Trader etc. When I get a new IP, will your broker's software get disconnected? If so, does it reconnect automatically and how long does it take? Or...

Using 2 ISPs to ensure 100% uptime, possible??

Yes that's the problem. The delay is still too long for daytrading. And I'm not sure if the dail-up will be down too when its broadband is down too. Another risk. ~$500 is a big investment. I have one question. If ISP A is down, how does the dual-WAN router switch over to ISP B? Is it...

Using 2 ISPs to ensure 100% uptime, possible??

So I would buy two single-WAN routers and both are on all the time, isn't it? Some questions about this setup: 1. Is it possible to login to two services at the same time? Or if I login to one ISP in the same window, I can't login twice? 2. If blackout occurs, isn't it possible the...

Using 2 ISPs to ensure 100% uptime, possible??

So in your case, you have wired and wireless connection. You probably only use wired connection to trade. You are on the wireless connection acting as a backup only just in case if problems occur. Hmm... If both wired and wireless connections are provided by the same ISP, will the wireless be...

Using 2 ISPs to ensure 100% uptime, possible??

Using 2 ISPs to ensure 100% uptime, possible?? Is it possible to use 2 ISPs to ensure 100% uptime? If so, how? 1) Do I need to buy a dual-WAN router to use 2 connections (1 as main; the other as backup)? What dual-WAN router should I buy? How much? Is there any wireless dual-WAN router...

Is it possible to change server of the IB TWS?

You can only request server change (via ticket etc.). IB staff will process it over weekends only. You can't switch server when the server is down.

Is IB's data stream down again?

What a shame! There is someone in society who feel like insulting and flaming people everyday. He even call an uncivil question a "Zen question". Do you understand what Zen is? Do you have some minimum respect for Zen? Clearly he considers it a very smart thing to do, and he is very proud of...

Is IB's data stream down again?

Hello! Not today. However TWS only showed up an empty window (no quotes, no toolbars) when I opened it on one day. Scary and frustrating! :( So far TWS is stable most of the year (there seems to be many instability problems recently). After all IB can't be stable all of the year. That's...

How Do I Get International Market Data Feeds Into Tradestation 8.3

I believe TradeStation doesn't want to accept third-party market data. They want you to use their own datafeed. That's why they don't support it natively. You need third-party tools to help in this case. OwnData in TradeStation 8: http://www.tssupport.com/addons/owndata/

IB: How to protect yourself from any unexpected execution or position

Due to a recent thread about a "phantom" order being executed later, it is good to think about some precautions to against this risk. 1. TWS is a software. It may be subject to bugs. How can you check to make sure there is clearly no unexpected execution or positions in your account? 2...

$52k gone from my IB account. What next, sue IB?

That is what I'm trying to say too. To add one more point, you may have a hard time to prove that there is a display problem on your end. IB is also very slow to process compensation request. If IB refuses to reimburse you, you have no way but to sue it.

$52k gone from my IB account. What next, sue IB?

The possible bust is similar to this case. What will you do if you get a bustable trade? Close it. If that trader bust that trade, you lose. Leave it open. If that trader doesn't burst that trade, the market may goes against you, you lose. What will you do? PS: By the way, I think you...
