    Chilean fascist kicks bucket

This is total bullshit. There is no logic in your argument. Allende was democractically elected, some terrorist governments in the Middle East were democractically elected, so therefore Allende was rightfully overthrown? That's what you're trying to imply? What crimes did Allende ever commit? He...

    Leading Indicators

What else could you possibly use to predict the future? Think about it... any prediction of what will happen or is most likely to happen has to be based on what has happened in the past. This is true in trading, scientific research, sports, whatever. The problem is to be able to assess all...

    Is this really happening

Nitro, you're confusing SPY, a particular stock, with $SPX, the S&P 500 Index. Rearden gave us a chart of SPY for the past 10 years. Here is a chart of $SPX for the past 10 years.

    How to read the tape

I've been wondering about this too for a while. A couple of the things that I've heard said about what tape reading is supposed to be: 1) It's looking to spot the tracks of the smart money, the big players that move a stock. 2) It's not just looking at the T & S for a particular stock...

    Does this protect traders?

You are ignoring the point I made in my last post. The privately held companies that do disclose financial statements do so, as far as I know, because they are required to. The Chicago Stock Exchange requires you to disclose this information, just as the SEC requires Assent to post financials...

    Does this protect traders?

Demonize? No, just pointing out a sales pitch when I see one. If you weren't repeatedly acting like a used boat salesman, you wouldn't get treated like one. By the way, what about Bright's financial statements Don? Where are they? I looked on your Web site for them but I couldn't find them...

    Does this protect traders?

Ah, yes. Another infomercial from Don. But as far as these prop firms I'm considering goes, I spoke to representatives from each of them on the phone today. They both allow you to withdraw money whenever you want. However, they only cut checks once a month. That means if you want to get...

    Does this protect traders?

Actually I would be a Class C member. The firm in question is Trade Vision. They use a standard contract that other LLCs with Genesis use. Cy Group's contract is the same except for things like the firm's name and home state. It even has the same misprints. So my guess is that it's a standard...

    Does this protect traders?

That's what I thought since I would be an investor in this company. I spoke to one of the people at these prop firms on the phone and he said I would not be an investor, my money would be in a separate account. So either there is something else that protects me, or the company has just decided...

    Does this protect traders?

I'm looking at a few prop firms right now, and they all appear to use the same contract with a few modifications. In this contract there is the following clause: Liability of Members No Member (as a Member) shall be liable as such for the liabilities of the Corporation. The failure of the...

    Disillusioned

Reexamine your old trades. Look at the ones you lost money on. How close were your stops? How much money would you have right now if you had kept tighter stops? Also, how much of the winning trades would you have been stopped out of with these tighter stops? Were your actual stops arbitrary or...

What is your broker's up time % ?

I once used the ScottTrade Elite platform and it seemed to go down in the morning every other day. Sometimes it was down for a few minutes, sometimes much longer. Needless to say, active traders shouldn't bother with this platform.

Okay then, why don't you call them and then tell us what you think of them? Do us a favor and spend a few minutes talking to them. You have many years of experience in the securities industry and are an accountant to boot. You would know what questions to ask them better than we would. How about it?

Sogo Invest, - New King of Brokers - $1.5 for 5000 shares

It still is useful for swing traders and position traders, though. It looks like what Genesis has done is add a Web interface to the backend system that Laser uses. It seems like a very smart move because it probably didn't cost a lot to develop and it lets them start expanding into other areas...

    Tradevision

Such as...? This doesn't answer the question. I understand that someone belonging to a regulatory body could feel compelled to be honest in order not to be tossed out of it or have his misdeeds recorded by it. What other specific reasons do you have?

Sogo Invest, - New King of Brokers - $1.5 for 5000 shares

I looked at their Web site, and as far as I can see all they offer for trading is the standard 3-step Web method where you have to confirm that you actually do want to place an order. This wouldn't be useful for active traders.
