I had similar issue in my code that’s why I was looking for someone to help me add the time element. But instead of complicate things I have decided to just enter everything mkt, I have only tested for the past 2 days the slippage wasn’t bad.

Yea I hear ya, even a simple strategy, so many things could go wrong in live environment. I spent my most of my time learning coding/testing instead of trading these days haha. Btw thanks hilmy83 your post really inspired me to go automate :thumbsup:

Thanks for the heads up, for me the real tick takes bit too long to run in optimization I ended up using 1M ohlc. My plan is to test it for a week on my old laptop then getting a vps, are you using the MT5 one?

I had similar issue before, what had helped me is to use my daily average (60 days) to cap my daily drawdown, I had the urge to go beyond the limit at the beginning but it’s to train yourself be disciplined and consistent.

Have ChatGPT teach you how to code, it will not give you a full strategy but it will explain all the basic. I started a month ago and now I can code some simple strategy. Good luck !
