Does anyone know what pegging is? I'm using the DAS Trader platform and if I hold a security to AH and try to sell, I get the error, "no pegging allowed"
what's this mean? if I can't sell a stock I bought during the day in AH, what can I do AH???
Just wanted to say that I had trouble selling 900 shares of PALM right before the closing bell on Friday. The order went in and then didn't execute for a good minute. I tried cancelling but it wouldn't let me, saying nothing to cancel.
So nothing I could do, it went into afterhours and same...
Yes. Remember last week when palm reported earnings? That stock went down the tube. I made a few hundred at one point bouncing in and out but I got burned when it took a few shits. Ending up losing a grand. I tried to short it a few times but it wasn't valid. Too bad.
Yes, actually I have. They have some quirks to work out with getting everything set up smoothly but it's really not a big deal considering that the people are extremely friendly and helpful. I had my funds wired in the afternoon and my account was ready to roll around 10am the following day...
atyt slated to report earnings in the morning. Anyone remember what happened to them last time they reported? Made 20% that day
but bernanke is really worrying me that no matter the news, it's going to be ugly.
I'm with you, but with stocks. From 930 to 11 I usually pull in 3-10%. Then after that it's all sorts of ugly. I've been gambling on earnings in my overnight bp lately and have been taking a beating.
Wow I can't remember what provider but I've seen that before. Scottrade seems to be consistent, although I've noticed their quotes are about 1/2 - 2 seconds behind say DAS trader. Big deal though I guess.
But I think I'm just biting the bullet and moving to harmon group, and praying for the...
Bunch of stocks to do something with before the close today and hope for the best tomorrow at open. short or long.
Let's see. There's the BBBY. Historically not so good as people mentioned but from what the analysts are saying, maybe it'd be the sole one good this time. Possible buy...
In the past, I have been successful at short term week to two-week trading. However the returns from that aren't anything really significant to be making a valid source of income. I was averaging around 4% at best.
With swing trading, especially in today's markets, every opening day brings...
Well hey, to be honest with you, I'd rather not dive in unless I had the capital. But if you look around, it's what's being suggested as the only way to do it because of the rule. And I'm not just starting out now. I have been watching the markets for years but am only just getting really...
Alright, I guess I should provide an update on my situation. I've come to realize that I really can't stand the obstacle of not being able to daytrade. It severely hinders my ability to get out when I need to if I'm constantly needing to think about wasting a daytrade or running too many and...
yeah, I mentioned IB and that it won't work since they require a 21+ for margin accounts.
edit:
With scottrade, yes the charts have problems way too often. Calling in just results in a "we're aware of the problem and will work on fixing it soon" or a "it's a problem with our source and...
Hi, I'm looking to switch away from Scottrade. It'll be between 4k and 5k. Looking to mainly trade equities until I learn a bit more about options/futures/forex to start "field testing" in that, but it will eventually be what I'm moving to, hopefully.
Looking for a margin account.
I would...
I'll take a look, but for the time being, I don't think there's a way around a partnership firm. The other partnership I've found was http://www.alldaytraders.com/commissions.html which charges 12.95 + a sell fee. That'd be way too much in my book.
9.95 doesn't seem too bad to me at all for right now. I'd be coming from Scottrade's 7, and harmon would offer me more services and faster executions with the das.
