    Best Standard Deviation Channel Range

What range would you recommend for a standard deviation channel for day trading? I generally look for reversals at the 2nd SD lines. The channel I've been using is based on the previous 24 hours rolling, but I'm wondering if anyone uses a different time period? Or maybe you have the channel...

Day trading blue chip stocks on a budget

I'm now using divergences, market and volume profile and footprint as part of my system. I've abandoned my previous moving average based strategy. I'm more interested in reading and understanding the market than mechanically trading based on a couple of lines crossing. Also incorporating higher...

Day trading blue chip stocks on a budget

Great man, thanks for asking! I've opened up an account with a futures broker so I'm only trading futures for now. Trading naked options is a bit less precise in terms of getting in and out at desired levels, and I like that the futures market is tradable all day and night. Futures price...

Day trading blue chip stocks on a budget

I've decided that for now I'm going to focus on the futures market, namely ES and NQ. I prefer trading the same thing rather than jumping around from stock to stock searching for the next move. As for options, I can trade the SPY and QQQ, but I'd rather trade the futures themselves.

    I don't believe so.

    Best free Platform with AMP

I forgot to mention that I use Mac and a lot of these programs (Sierra, NinjaTrader, Multicharts, etc) are Windows only. Can anyone recommend a good one for Mac?

    Best free Platform with AMP

I plan on signing up with AMP broker to trade micros and I currently use Thinkorswim for equities, which I really like. I was thinking of using a free platform with AMP simply for order execution, and doing the charting and data feed with TOS. My strategies are mostly chart based. Any thoughts...

Day trading blue chip stocks on a budget

Your options screener links led me to find out that there's an options scanner within Thinkorswim so I've been using that and it works really well. Thanks for the help man.

Day trading blue chip stocks on a budget

Margin accounts under 25k are limited by the PDT rule and I don't plan on putting that much money into an account. I'm starting small and slowly growing. I'll be able to make at least ten trades a day with my current capital, which I believe is more than enough.

Day trading blue chip stocks on a budget

I have a cash account so I am only limited by my capital.

Day trading blue chip stocks on a budget

Good questions. Since I don't want to risk more than 30 dollars a trade, it seems options less than 3 dollars are suitable for my stop loss range, which is a bit on the tight side. Around the three dollar range I can buy one call or put. I've been buying deltas just over .50, usually one in the...

Day trading blue chip stocks on a budget

I have an active cash account with $3k and a margin account with $2k. I expect you've collected all the preliminary data necessary to answer my question.

Day trading blue chip stocks on a budget

I'm looking to make a list of blue chip stocks that move consistently and significantly enough to day trade to put my focus on, rather than jumping around to whatever low float stock is making moves that day. My plan is to trade options- calls and puts, rather than buying shares, but my capital...

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I've never traded futures but I'll look into it.

    A Winning System!

The sample size is much greater than what I shared, but it's a good representation. I don't need an analysis on how to backtest, I'm just looking for your opinion on how you would trade this system with low capital to make decent returns. I'm aware of what happens when markets change.

    A Winning System!

I’ve developed a day trading system for TQQQ which yields what I believe are good and consistent results. The problem with trading the stock is that it’s around $150 a share and my capital is low. I don’t know a lot about options but I understand that they can yield good profit with less capital...

Different strategies or patterns for different times of day?

I didn't say trading was easy. I said that sharing our own strategies and favorite patterns is easy. To demonstrate I listed a few of my own. If you aren't interested in doing so, this isn't the thread for you.
