Jurik Adaptive Moving Averages and Adaptive Moving averages in general

    Trading in the cloud

also, I found this with respect to Amazon: "3rd party software that relies on specific hardware attributes for their licensing to be in effect causes problems in a virtualized environment. While the instance is running the hardware will remain the same; machine ID, MAC address, etc are all...

    Trading in the cloud

my main concern would be security. what's the risk of a hacker compromising the system, stealing your brokerage account info and doing some major damage...you also wouldn't want to put up any proprietary code on their systems so the code would also have to be protected too....

    My option trades

That's perfectly fine...move at your own pace and MANAGE YOUR RISK and you'll be ballin in a few years...think "long-term - ie., 3-5 years+" and "compounding returns" from my end it doesn't look like there's much you need to change...just grind it out day in and day out at YOUR PACE and...

    Would You Trade This System?

It seems as if you're relying too much on statistics. Actual trading rarely plays out like the backtested statistics for any sustained period of time. Another approach would be to use your signals only as a guideline for entering the market. Then, use your discretion to determine whether to...

    Would You Trade This System?

With a Percent Profitable of 63.71% and a Ratio Avg. Win:Avg. Loss of 0.73, you will have almost no margin for error. Unless you can avoid ever making mistakes, this system is not workable without further refinement.

    Hammering away, slow and methodical

Agree. It seems like you're making a rash decision based on hindsight results. Committing real capital to a strategy that hasn't been vetted in a simulated real-time environment rarely turns out good. BTW, the EDGE in trading is that you can THOROUGHLY test an opportunity BEFORE COMMITTING...

Did Robert Hoffman really lose 312K in a single TF trade? Yikes!

So basically Rob gave back almost everything, if not everything, he made in the prior 2 years as a result of the blowup? Does that put Rob in the same boat as the newbs he mentors? ...and therefore, doesn't his blowup simply mean that he just got demoted back down to newbie himself?

help...special stock screener anyone can recommend

NinjaTrader is my preferred screening platform. I can screen for almost any idea I can come up with. However, you do need the ability to code in c-sharpe.

    SP500 Inverted H&S = Target of 1360

personally, I would take half off the table when price reaches 1:1 risk:reward and let the balance ride. oh noooos here comes the "all-in all-out" crowd :D

    SP500 Inverted H&S = Target of 1360

seems plausible. a little overkill with the indicators. However, the more important question, is where do you exit if you're wrong? AND How will you manage the position (assuming spy or ES is your instrument) when the trade moves in your favor or doesn't move as expected?
