New invention for the derivatives market - How to profit of it?

Hedge funds and the like are not covered up the regulations governing retail clients and tradable products though. that was bascially my job, I would produce a new idea every monday, every investment bank was the same back then. The more complex you make it the more potential payoff you could...

New invention for the derivatives market - How to profit of it?

I was an exotics derivative structurer for 15+ years (IR, hybrids, credit). Trust me you have nothing new (by the fact you mention BSM, Prehistoric in terms on how derivative traders value financial instruments.) Banks don't give away their models and the one's in J Hull are long dated, in fact...

Richard Dennis theory that anyone can learn to trade is flawed

all trainers say that though, "anyone can learn to trade, just pay me $3000 first and I'll tell you how, but lets not get focused up in minor details like audited accounts" "Live trading? Sure" You can see my screen but naturally i can't show you P&L, open position list but you can listen to...

AMD should be bought on pull backs

don't know what gave you the idea I said it's a bubble stock but history hasn't been kind to them, they are not a new company . I think it's probably worth a buy not at these prices, in my view anyway

AMD should be bought on pull backs

as long as you get out on time sure, no debate there but they very often deflate like a balloon pretty quick and never recover. Microsoft took near ten years from memory to recover I don't mean just a few indicators to value a company but long term it's vital to look at company financials.

AMD should be bought on pull backs

AMD have barely turned a profit in 10 years Intek make 10% a year profit , AMD make 0.5% pa may turn it around, who knows. Even if AMD have a big growth, doesn't justify the price in my view. P/E ratio 20 times that with AMD, My money is on Intel, safer

Tomorrow S&P takes out pre covid high?

Admitting your wrong is important lesson, I called the S&P completely wrong this time, cashed out long position at 3150 and shorted the next day. The market will tank, that I am 100% certain. Many people look at the index only and not concerned with the company valuations which are way way off...

WeChat is to be banned in the USA

It's even more serious that that! pornhub is banned here! o_O In fact all explicit material is a criminal offence and means jail time. Tossing someone in jail is much easier here, as its partly comes under administrative law , so technically called detention. Drive without a valid license an...

T or False, It’s easier and faster than ever to become competent in a new skill.

yeah i don't know a whole lot about that topic so defer to your better knowledge but I still maintain that the broad level of skill has deteriorated through the years. Perhaps its because society has no longer any need for these skills such as a master watchmaker, sculptor, painter etc Also as...

What commodities can benefit from US-Sino tension ?

These are just squabbles. Trump as we know put the economy above all else, China are highly focused of "saving face " and propaganda. Its all just sabre rattling in my view . The banning Wechat is a huge topic here in china and the hypocrisy is just laughable from the Chinese side. There will...

Learning efficiency has improved via online media, learning techniques, access to information more focused learning. Although I think it depends on how you define a skill If you ever saw with your own eyes La Pieta by Michelangelo it will blow you away. Simply phenomenal. No power tools and...

Do you keep a credit card ? Or only a debit ?

as Bugsy said, + ease of payment for international travel. I never let it go past the 30 day interest free period I believe that people should use 'credit' for only for buying property, (possibly business loans etc) but buying cars, holidays, IPhone on credit is foolhardy as if you don't have...

How do you learn to program trading ?

    1. Programming skills required for trading is pretty simple, anyone can learn it. It's about a 1 or 2 max out of 10 on the programming scale . Most sophisticated trading software has it. 2. All it is a set of instructions to perform an action (buy sell, set limits, stop etc) on the asset...

    ETF trading for new user

You just have to fill in a online form , most UK / Irish brokers have it on their website if day trading , watch the spreads, we get about 10 times the spread as our USA friends get. Then add on the commissions, tax, FX spread charge and it soon becomes a heck of a difficult proposition just to...
