Does it ever make sense to have a risk-to-reward ratio of 2:1?

Exactly, we’re talking outrights here. In regards to option premium selling, these inverse ratios may work, but it’s way outside of my scope.

Does it ever make sense to have a risk-to-reward ratio of 2:1?

How long you plan on holding? That’s a critical component of the stop placement. In your case, I assume you use the IBD method for long only stock positions near a new high. So upon entry something simple like this would be a good starting point: 1 week hold- ATR(30) * .50 Stop 2 week hold-...

Does it ever make sense to have a risk-to-reward ratio of 2:1?

A 2:1 or any inverse ratio is never viable for a retailer, because the win rate will fuck your ass when it drops, and it’s not a matter of if, but when. Even a 1:2 ratio won’t work in the long run. Any strategy that chokes off profit is destined to fail. “The desire to maximize the number of...

No it doesn't help, just delays the process of reaching the end goal. I'm feeling some deja vu here Andrea :)

BRAVO Captain Obvious! You get the Fields Metal for your discovery. This thread is getting more comical by the day, as you guys swim in your own bullshit. At least a few in here can smell it.

I doubt neither of them seriously trades if they give this Crooks guy any credibility. If you don't realize that guy is is selling a bag of turds within 5 minutes of listening to him, you have no clue how to trade successfully.

I doubt you’ll find any valid objective findings. Not worth my time, after I saw what he demonstrated in that video. This guy doesn’t trade in any serious way using those methods.

I just grabbed this screenshot from the video I watched. Just look at this nonsense. How the fuck do you place any statistical significance on counting bars? "16 bar micro channel" and "Sell 3rd consecutive bar". That's not statistics and probabilities. To top it off, this dude has all these...

I just watched a video of this assclown, after seeing this thread. This is the type of anecdotal shit (floating all over the internet) which is a guaranteed road to failure. It's laughable. If you want to seriously get into trading (and be taken seriously) check out this site. It's a great...

Custom Strategy Code (IP) - which platform(s) to trust?

Technically yes, probable no, since the risk grossly outweighs any reward/guarantee for that employee. My developer has all my IP, but wouldn’t know what to do with it. It’s much more complex than most here realize.

Custom Strategy Code (IP) - which platform(s) to trust?

Retail traders are capable of having a profitable system, but the profitable ones operate like professionals do. Generally speaking, at least how I see it, if you pay capital gains tax you’re retail. If you pay income/self-employment tax you’re a professional.

Custom Strategy Code (IP) - which platform(s) to trust?

No, some non-professional who started the thread is struggling to comprehend why the chances of some NT "insider" stealing his golden goose are zero, since the vast majority of serious operators don't fool around with retail platforms. They build their own, or have someone build it for them. Not...

Custom Strategy Code (IP) - which platform(s) to trust?

Sure, I get all that, as all of them have some type of linking capability. What I was trying to emphasize, is that most (profitable) professionals won’t deal with that headache, or dependency. They’ll customize for specifics, and to have full control.
