Seems like you are on the right track! I have experience with Interactive brokers and Trade station.
Interactive brokers is well with me, they are a good broker. But they do have policies that change by the minute it seems. They do offer ACH even if you just trade futures so that's nice...

Seriously man, If you are trying to create and operate a viable business, don't cheapen yourself by doing things like this.
I'm suprised no one has mentioned that fact that unless one is proficient in reading a market the best execution platform on the planet is useless.
retail or otherwise, if you cannot read a market correctly you will be at a net loss over the long term.

If for instance someone trades off Price and volume, simply identifies wholesale accumulation or distribution and trades the path of least resistance over years and years profitably, is it an edge or a skill?
Well, you are assuming these people are successful. Most that say they are just aren't.
I have to disagree that other successful individuals go out exposing trade secrets/methods/models. They may give some great advice but no secrets...none of any real value.

You can only use one IB account per machine...I tried to use the same account on my tower and laptop and it wasn't happenin' makes one TWS screen turn bright purple :)
