Does IB close accounts associated with low tax jurisdictions?

I asked IB support and they told me:

Does IB close accounts associated with low tax jurisdictions?

Reading through that thread re-gains me a little more confidence. It seems like they are mostly targeting non-US persons due to a recent fine by the US gov. And Panama is blacklisted. Other jurisdictions seem to be okay. I think wrapping the company in a US LLC may be fine because it's already...

Best Country for Trading (Tax efficiency)

That's weird, I've never experienced that. Opening the account was pretty straightforward after I gave all the relevant documentation. I know bank accounts though can be difficult to open as a non-US person.

Does IB close accounts associated with low tax jurisdictions?

Maybe BVI would be the safer route to go then instead of Panama, Seychelles or Belize.

Does IB close accounts associated with low tax jurisdictions?

I've heard a few people recently say that their IB company accounts have been shut down because their companies are located in Seychelles or Belize. It seems like IB may have gone through a de-risking phase. I've been trading with IB for a couple years under a US LLC company account. My account...

Best Country for Trading (Tax efficiency)

I've heard a couple reports like this, which is worrying. I've been trading under a US LLC with pass through taxation for a couple years without issue. However, I've been considering changing the ownership of the LLC to be another entity in a low tax jurisdiction rather than me owning the...

    DAS and TOS

What's the benefit of DAS over thinkorswim? I know a lot of people use DAS and swear by it. I haven't ever used it myself and from first glance didn't really see anything superior over thinkorswim.

    Ninjatrader for Mac...

Thinkorswim by TD Ameritrade supports mac, as does TWS by Interactive Brokers. If you want something generic for Mac, MotiveWave is probably your best bet unless you run virtualization software.

IBKR Lite now has access to TWS

IQFeed is very reliable. If I was starting over I'd look more into Polygon.io. I wouldn't bother too much with free data sources.

IBKR Lite now has access to TWS

IB Pro supports institutional accounts, better margin rates, better order execution, API and advanced order types. Until IB Lite is on par with IB Pro, I'll continue to pay commissions. Which one is best is really going to depend on the type of trading you do.

If you had to choose between BTC and Gold

A hedge against currency debasement and socio-political/economic turmoil is one thing, but for electricity, the internet and the bitcoin network to crumble, that's a whole different level of catastrophe. In that case we'd basically be building civilization from scratch, so gold might not be that...

If you had to choose between BTC and Gold

Neither gold nor bitcoin are investments, they're speculations. A better question is: what would you rather store your wealth in, gold or bitcoin? Gold has withstood the test of time. Bitcoin has only been going on for a little over a decade. Bitcoin makes a lot more sense to me than does...

Alternative charting software for Interactive Brokers?

You have to be a TD Ameritrade client, but you don't have to pay anything to TD Ameritrade. Like I said, I've never made any trades with TD Ameritrade. I've also never deposited any money into my TD Ameritrade account.

Alternative charting software for Interactive Brokers?

This is pretty much my strategy. I've never traded with TDA but I really like ThinkorSwim. I've tried MotiveWave but I'm not a fan. ThinkorSwim is better, and it's free.

How to calculate VWAP deviation bands?

    I ended up getting pretty close using: vwap_sum += (((high + low + close) / 3) - vwap)^2 deviation = sqrt(vwap_sum / total_bars) I didn't get very far with the thinkorswim code, but MichalTr's comment helped a lot.
