I've done this a few times with cult stocks like $BYND and $TSLA. When the expiration day falls on the same day as earnings, if the earnings are posted in the morning and NOT after the market closes. I will sell a few puts way out of the money at 3:15 or 3:30PM. Can make a few hundred dollars...

You need to have a lot of cash on hand for this....it's likely out of your league.

I do something very similar except I keep a very large sum of cash on hand and sell the puts significantly below the current price. Almost always weeklies. Always quality stocks. I'm assigned just over 10% of the time and when I'm assigned I simply turn around and sell more far off puts the next...
