Looking for a executing-broker that specializes in US micro and small caps

Thanks for the list, very interesting. What are the ballpark minimums for the mini-PBs?

    ETrade Platinum requirements

That's actually why I ask -- I recently became a platinum member and ... am not sure why. If anything, I use them less recently than I had before.

    ETrade Platinum requirements

Anyone know what are the requirements for ETrade platinum? And what about the better tiers above that?

Midprice or algo stop orders for not-time-sensitive executions.

For swing trading purposes, I'd like to place stop orders but unlike daytrading, I don't need them filled quickly; I'd rather have them filled at a good price. A big market order, especially near the open if there's a gap would have terrible execution and for the limit orders it's hard to know...

Bank account which accepts investment companies and has good wire fees

FWIW I succeeded in opening an account with BofA but then, about a month later they froze and closed it with a "we shouldn't even have opened it; we don't want to deal with that industry" and I couldn't quite figure out why. I'm guessing it's some AML concerns because otherwise, this seems like...

    Do you support US clients?

Bank account which accepts investment companies and has good wire fees

Right, that's what I've been doing; however I'd now like to open another bank account in the partnership name and am looking for banks who are a) willing to open accounts for trading partnerships and b) have somewhat decent service / fees, hopefully relatively low wire fees.

Bank account which accepts investment companies and has good wire fees

Hi guys, I've been trading on my own for a while and the have found enough success to persist. However, for various reasons, I'm not trading using my personal account but instead, using an LP entity, kinda like a mini hedge fund (though it's just my $). For some trading-related reasons, I...

need access to historical bid/ask for US stock options

Typically brokers don't provide historical tick or bid/ask data. The start date is 2013-09-13. As a note, the feed is *massive* so you really want either processed data or to use a data provider which is co-located so you don't need to transfer it over and has software to process it quickly...

need access to historical bid/ask for US stock options

Try QuantGo. It's "renting" data, where you pay for a monthly subscription and can only use the data on their servers (AWS machines) but their prices are very reasonable compared to the tens of thousands historical options data tends to cost from most vendors. Options TAQ is $350/month with a...

What is the best direct access software and broker for experienced traders?

Lightspeed offers DMA routing where you can directly pick the exchange your order goes to. They also offer algo routes like CS, etc but if you don't want your order sent to CS, don't use those routes.

Must brokers route spreads to the exchange?

What about Lightspeed? I noticed you guys offer direct routing for individual options but I believe only SMART for spreads -- if I submit the options order with you, would it hit the exchange's COB?

    Question on taking liquidity

Whoops, just posted a reply that was dumb because I thought it was a different thread; deleted that. A 4th option, somewhat like _eug_'s 2nd but more frustrating is that someone's algo posts a bid/ask at the *same* price as you -- not even better -- but at a different exchange. Ugh. Using a...

    Question on taking liquidity

It depends on the order type but assuming it's as vanilla order, it'll rest at that price and shrink the spread unless there's a hidden order already resting at that exchange at a crossing price. Some order types (provide liquidity only, for example) wouldn't match against the resting order...

Must brokers route spreads to the exchange?

What are internalization and best execution obligations for US equity options markets? If I submit an options spread / combo order, is the broker / market maker obligated to route it to a public exchange as a spread order or can they just sit on it until it's marketable? My concern is that...

Lightspeed Trader Adds Short Locate Functionality

As far as borrow availability, Lightspeed's free Wedbush locates are much worse than IB. Velocity locate availability is much better than IB, with the caveats that it's expensive and Lightspeed/Wedbush prohibits shorting of stocks on the SHO threshold list, which are often the best shorts. IB...

Proprietary Futures Firms Hiring Experienced Remote Traders?

I don't know of a shop for you but the math on your economics doesn't really work well. You're saying that you can earn 5% a month and want 80-90% for yourself. So if I'm your prop shop, I earn 10-20% of the 5% = which is about 6-12% a year. In return, I need to backstop your strategy which...

Lightspeed Trader Adds Short Locate Functionality

You can put in a locate request via email too, though the fact that it's 2017 and Wedbush locates require emails or phone calls is absurd. Just like jbusse, I mostly avoid Lightspeed these days because the locate process is annoying and slow compared to IB, ETrade and almost anyone else.

    Is Speedtrader reliable / shady?

zderg, I agree (mostly) and if you look at my posts, you'll notice that I never said anything about rates, just about borrow availability. I'm currently using a couple of brokers (IB & ETrade) which have reasonable availability but want to add more HTB inventory to the mix when those brokers...

    Is Speedtrader reliable / shady?

Yeah, I know what you guys mean -- writing down the list of red flags for the original post definitely caused me to reflect on them some more. That said, perhaps people who've used them can share their experience. Shorting crap stocks is a tough segment to find good brokerage for -- a lot of...
