E-Mini S&P500 margin requirements at Interactive Brokers

TOS freezes every now and then when volatility is high. I'm in Europe and it happen less often for me. My theory, I'm connected to different servers. Not everyone is affected at the same degree. Off-topic: Last week there was a internet blackout in my region. No web surfing, web radio... all...

E-Mini S&P500 margin requirements at Interactive Brokers

I'll contact Interactive Broker. It seems they have their own risk model for Europe. Maybe the CME requirements are not the same for Europe clients. Kinda weird...but, we see the figures.

E-Mini S&P500 margin requirements at Interactive Brokers

Good question. But I don't know the answer. I wonder if CME will cut the margins once the volatility settles. However, I made the error that I added initial and maintenance. Currently CME is asking 12k for the E-Mini S&P 500. I wonder how Interactive broker can offer it lower. TD Ameritrade...

E-Mini S&P500 margin requirements at Interactive Brokers

No, it's in USD. Intraday margin is quite low, while Overnight margin is relatively high. https://www.interactivebrokers.eu/en/index.php?f=40539&hm=eu&ex=us&rgt=0&rsk=1&pm=1&rst=101006100801080808

E-Mini S&P500 margin requirements at Interactive Brokers

Hello I'm located in Europe, trading with Thinkorswim but I'm tired with the bad fills and freezing platform. I just checked initial and maintenance margin requirements for the E-Mini S&P500 for overnight and intraday. Is it possible that the requirements are quite different between USA and...

Notebook for thinkorswim. GPU / CPU

I can't speak for other platforms. But TOS is definitely benefiting from the nVidia 1050 card. TOS Support even suggests to add a line in the config file which forces TOS to use the dedicated graphic card. I tested my setup running only on CPU and CPU / nVidia GPU. The latter runs a lot more...

    Blount’s Numbahs

I found Blount’s Numbahs which is kinda interesting. As I researched I figured out that William is not longer with us. Rest in Peace. Here is an example of his reports. https://mrtopstep.com/blounts-numbahs-monday-spill-26/ I wasn't able to find more information about his 'system'. He...

Notebook for thinkorswim. GPU / CPU

Thank you Robert. What do you think about the GPU? There is a offer from Asus. It looks very decent. The GPU is a MX110. That might be weak part of it.

Notebook for thinkorswim. GPU / CPU

Hello I plan to buy a notebook. I use 1 external monitor. Actually only 2 felxible grids are running. Since I trade only one product, I let display chart with several timeframes. 7-8750u CPU should be enough. Right? I'm not sure about the GPU. For instance, a nVidia MX110 is ok? I see...

    Trading in Paradise??

I'm trading from Thailand. It's nice here. No taxes. But trading hours for US market are a pita. I plan to move to Amsterdam. I love this town. But, as an expat you will pay too much for a flat or house. They have stupid conditions for non - employees. Otherwise maybe an Baltic state. Low living...

TOS extremly memory hungry and slow after recent update

Yes, this must not happen. Obviously there was a small effort to test the before the release. Every broker has minor issues from time to time. But this was over the top. Apart from that, TOS is a nice platform. Very adjustable.

TOS extremly memory hungry and slow after recent update

Yes, crazy. Why they not roll back till they are able to fix the issue. We are the beta-tester. I guess till the weekend will nothing happen, if at all. No ETA means, they have no clue how to fix it.

TOS extremly memory hungry and slow after recent update

Latest answer from TOS: 'so I recommend that you go back to 2gb on the high end as we never want to allocate more than 1/4th of your total. I also recommend that we restart TOS every 2 hours. We should have some fixes for this as the problem is coming from our side of things. No estimation on...

after a hour, more than 3GB. 271MB sounds very low. I thought about 800MB-1.5GB should be normal. TDA said there is an issue with the recent update. Java related. But no workaround yet.

TOS extremly memory hungry and slow after recent update

Did everyone else face this issue? Deleted usergui, rolled back to an older backup. Nothing helps. TOS support have no clue. Other users on Stocktwits reported same issue. Is this the end of TOS?
