Thanks! Things must have changed since I last checked a few years ago.

    Tiger Brokers

However if I understand correctly only non-Singapore accounts can trade on SGX through Interactive Brokers, while Singapore resident accounts can trade the rest of the world through IBKR but not SGX. Apparently this is one of the reasons Tiger was set up to allow Singapore residents...

    Tiger Brokers

Interesting! Thanks for the info. I looked at the Tiger platform and it is different from TWS. I am actually in Singapore and it would be convenient to trade through a local broker than through one in the US. In Singapore IBKR is barred from SGX, while Tiger can trade the local...

Calculator of software to help you choose the best strike price and expiration

I am well aware of the fact some brokers offer such option calculators, however none of them work in real time.. All the ones I am aware of display the results on screen, or dump them into CSV or Excel files. I am looking for a real time calculator that can be embedded into a trading program...

    Trading Platforms' Relative Market Share

Thanks for the prompt reply. I am aware of all the different markets, constituencies and geographies. Let me clarify the context and the parameters. The asset classes of interest are mainly equities, options, indexes, and index futures, which also implies ETFs. The geographies of interest are...

    Trading Platforms' Relative Market Share

Are there any published statistics or research articles about the relative market share of various trading platforms? E.g. TradeStation vs. MultiCharts vs. eSignal vs. Metastock vs. MetaTrader 4/5 vs. others? Is there a clear market leader, or is this market extremely fragmented? Thanks!

RAM vs Processor vs # of Cores ... what matters most for a trading rig?

I also use a pair of HP Z820 workstations with 64 GB each in a hot standby failover configuration. The hardware is reliable, however HP support sucks and HP no longer provides driver updates for these machines. I am replacing the Z820s with a pair of Dell Precision T7910 workstations with 256 GB...

    Extended hours options trading

Thanks for the prompt follow up. IB lists BATS EDGX as an options only exchange, separately from BATS Global Markets and BATS BYX. I will certainly try to find out if there is a way to trade there -- if the information is correct -- and report back.

    Extended hours options trading

According to https://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/?f=exchanges BATS EDGX options exchange trades from 7:00 am to 20:00 pm. What am I missing?

    Extended hours options trading

Thanks for the clarification. Are you saying options on futures and on indexes can be traded during extended hours?

    Extended hours options trading

Do any brokers provide options trading during extended market hours? From comparing open interest for out of the money options at market close versus next day's open, it is pretty obvious some options must have traded overnight -- as they neither expired nor were they exercised.

    Pegged orders for options

Do any brokers accept pegged orders for options? I am currently trading options intraday on TradeStation, and the "Peg" button is greyed out and inactive in the order manager panel when trading an option.

RAM vs Processor vs # of Cores ... what matters most for a trading rig?

The most important lesson I learned during decades of professional software development is that dollar for dollar and minute for minute of engineering time, nothing solves as many problems as quickly and reliably as more memory. One should think of RAM vs. CPU as oxygen vs. car engine. The...
