    uselessness of the volumes

Evidence? And yes, the order flow is relative. Find a way to use this concept.

    The $4000 / month cofounders

Put a rocket engine on a brick and it will fly - until the fuel runs out. Put millions of dollars into a random hedge fund and it will fly too...

    The Bollinger Band

^This. And it has to be done just right too. And can't be the only "indicators" being used. And a few other things.

What are the most important things for Technical Analysis?

Finding the things that, over time, create higher profits than losses.

    The Bollinger Band

Very nice description and very nice work. Many thanks for this.

    The Bollinger Band

Bollinger Bands use standard deviation to indicate what is "normal" (using normal distribution). In my experience, this concept is too "rigid" in practice...and the fat tails effect is a side effect of that. So I'm going to give away a bit of information that I believe is quite valuable (and...

    The Bollinger Band

Thanks for the explanation. Is the green line a standard regression curve?

    Zero Lag Filtering

Same story here. Realized a successful trading system is more than just indicators. Though "better" indicators can improve success.

    The Bollinger Band

@AndersenBands Is that a linear regression line, or did you extract the line from volatility bands themselves?

    Zero Lag Filtering

Such as "proper" estimation. Without that, moving averages are much too slow to catch anything, but the largest moves.

Amp Futures and Metatrader 5 backtesting

@AMP_Trading , many thanks for the detailed response. This answered many questions I had. I'm looking forward to the deep historical data update.

Amp Futures and Metatrader 5 backtesting

I'm considering moving to Amp Futures, but have a few questions before I do. Currently, MT5 will let you back test for free in a demo account, but it's only Forex, and seems to be limited resolution historical data (which makes sense, since historical data costs money). I need to back test...

    Zero Lag Filtering

Nice work xelarjona. Looks like the SMA and EMA are quite similar in this test. The ALMA definitely has a bit of overshoot. I've never been a fan of WMA.

10,000 hours to learn trading - Who wrote this rule?

10,000 is just the "average" (and is about 3.5 years of working 8 hours per day on it). Some people may take 5000 hours, others 15,000. And in rare cases, 1000, or 50,000.

"Price TA" Traders Dream Market Come True...

Not sure why people bash TA. Everything is TA in a way and has an inherent lag. Even price action.

    Macd

As everyone has stated, as-is, it won't work long term and you'll eventually lose your $$$. It has too much lag and you'll get chopped out on the smaller price moves (which happen way more than the moves that will make you a profit). That's not to mention slippage and commissions. Keep in...
