    Where's that confounded Bid ?

Below occurs fairly often -- I submit an order that overrides the currently-posted max bid or min ask, or there is no posted bid or ask prior to my order submit, yet the real-time order line does not report my price, and sometimes does not report the size. In the below example for a GFI put...

HOW ? -- MNQ Final Minute Jump, 2022-10-25 WED

Can anyone suggest an explanation for the MNQ contract having such a huge jump in the last second of today's session ? The close miraculously matched the open, making a huge reversal bar. Curiously no volume jump accompanied. I don't usually trade in the post-cash final Globex hour, is this...

Techniques for Day Trading the ES, NQ, YM, MES, MNQ, and MYM

IMO "noise" is most likely the impact of Higher Time Frames (HTFs) pushing around the TF you're trading. All TFs follow the same set of market principles, but the operation of each TF is to varying degree asynchronous to each of the other TFs. However conformant a TF is to market principles...

Super DITM calls: cant get out!

Sell short an equal-delta amount of the underlying (U). If U declines while the LEAP is still active, the net value of the position will likely increase, bc the delta of the LEAP will decline and its IV will likely increase. Not sure, but I think the $ from the short will be available to you...

Per Raul Pal recently at Real Vision -- since 1960 there's a yield rise at the end of every recession, then yields, or at least the yield curve, starts a downtrend that continues for most of the recovery.

    Supply / Demand Zone Training

I learned a lot several years ago from Alfonso Moreno at set-and-forget.com Excellent instructional material, and at the time reasonable pricing. Moreno is an outstanding teacher, was responsive to inquiries, and seemed to have created a good environment among trader-students. I did not...

This is - The Game & META

Strategies that "don't work anymore" -- when a trader talks about those, or says that "no strategy works forever," my inference is that the trader lacks a basic model of how markets actually work. A trader who develops one or more basic models of how markets actually work does not bother with...

How long did it take you to realize that you were a gambler?

Gambling is a confusing metaphor because it includes both games of pure chance, like slot machines, and games of skill that involve probabilities, like poker. "Trading is a kind of card-game" is more apt, though un-sonorous.

    Who buys options?

Implicit volatility has up and down cycles, just like realized volatility. An options trader who can identify up cycles of implicit volatility can make money buying options.

    Lessons from a failed trader

IMO the 2 critical factors in finding a profitable approach are: Having a model that resonates w/ how markets work; NB: there are all kinds of good models, though many/most are probably not intuitive -- you have to work to arrive at good models Giving priority to longer-term market biases...
