The problem is you won't really learn anything from this process. Perhaps the only thing you will learn is that this isn't a feasible trading strategy, but we can tell you that now.
I'm still not sure what your goal is exactly...?
I'm new to trading myself, I've just been soaking in as much information as possible. Then I've been filtering that information into my demo account so I can find a style that suits me and my current situation. It's good to see someone in the same boat :)
So, you have $500 capital? As far as...
These are my couple of trades for the day. Obviously this is just in demo mode. I made a few silly mistakes then got my head in gear and had a nice upwards run. I should have been paying more attention at the start, and I need to start treating this as Live. See chart also.
Sorry for the confusion. It's not that I have a 'willing to lose' attitude, just an 'expect to take losses, it isn't the end of the world' view. I'm going to focus on reducing and mitigating loss as much as I can, and the profit will follow.
Just a quick update. I think I've decided to use NinjaTrader (plus their brokerage service) with the Kinetick data services. I'll be initially trying my hand at the ES.
Any thoughts or other recommendations are appreciated, thanks.
Just repaying the attitude that you gave, that's all. I'm not going to rush into anything, I am taking my time to learn. I'm not going crazy with this which is why I'm using such a small amount to begin with.
You're making presumptions regarding your 'believe' statement. I'm prepared to lose the money, which is why it's such a small amount. I'm simply intrigued by the idea of trading which is why I want to have a go.
I'm just using the Trade Interceptor android app and it looks much better than the PC version. Only problem is, it doesn't appear to be updating my charts.. =/
I have got a strategy that appears to work in the demos but I need to try it in the live environment.
I just need a broker that I can open an account with for £500 and a platform that does what I need whilst being straight-forward to use.
Well I've opened a FXCM Demo account via TI but I can't register it on TI....it gives an error. Not sure if the server is down or something.
What platforms do you guys use for YM/ES etc?
From what I can see, FXCM's smallest account is $2,000.... :(
Standard Active Trader Private Client Group
Balance $2,000 or greater $25,000 or greater $150,000 or greater
FX Lot Size 1,000 1,000 1,000
Thanks for the advice.
I'm being very careful not to get sucked into something charging me for unnecessary things, but good advice.
Is tick better than volume?
Which platform/broker would you advise a novice to use?
Thanks!
