    Commission Negotiations

Whatever you negotiate, get it in WRITING!!! I got ripped-off bad after being told I was going to be given certain fees, but was actually given something else. Later the company reclaimed what was not charged on 1900 trades! Sick!

Court Rules: Charged anew 11,000% of comm. fees for 1900 trades, and 570% Comm. Fee

Yes, thanks again kjkent1. Sorry to hear of your serious disagreement with this website’s management. I can guess at what issues you have. I’m playing it PC here, so I’m not going to go there. The trial was very short: 4 hours tops. We committed to finishing it that day. The judge...

Court Rules: Charged anew 11,000% of comm. fees for 1900 trades, and 570% Comm. Fee

No, it would not compromise one cent. I had to pay the amount left owing, but I paid it before the trial out of prudence, because the Canadian dollar was going down and I would have been a greater loser if I had lost the case. However, that might have prevented the judge from discharging the...

Court Rules: Charged anew 11,000% of comm. fees for 1900 trades, and 570% Comm. Fee

kjkent1 thanks I needed (and was looking for) that clarification. Yes, the defendant relied on my admitting to the original agreement tremendously. Yet, I didn’t want to lie (Christian I am) and I didn’t want to be caught lying. However, I did hardly remember the terms of the agreement when...

Court Rules: Charged anew 11,000% of comm. fees for 1900 trades, and 570% Comm. Fee

Now that it is over…. I confess what I lost in dollars I made up with just the laughs. This incident is hilarious, and I got a lot of down-to-the-core laughs just seeing and expecting everyone’s reactions to it here. The laughing was uncontrollable for a few days after I posted the story on...

Court Rules: Charged anew 11,000% of comm. fees for 1900 trades, and 570% Comm. Fee

Verdict in: The judge did not accept my version of the agreement; although, the ten or more arguments I made had nothing to do with proving “my version of the agreement.” I think he restricted me to that argument because of the way my claim was written. He said he found this case is of...

Please Help - Etrade cost me $2,500 today

This is the kind of stuff I'm talking about that I wanted posted for http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=84409 Like when you route your order with ARCA, are you interacting directly with the ECN? Or is your broker rerouting your order directly to some entity within the...

    How do retail brokers work?

Who says I'm not an exceptional trader? That's exactly why I'm asking these questions here too.

    How do retail brokers work?

Mistake: should have been "transferred from the seller to the buyer" Thanks for the future reference biologymajor, but routing is not what I’m referring to. Here are good article on ECN’s and exchanges: http://www.investopedia.com/articles/basics/04/092404.asp...

    How do retail brokers work?

Can someone explain to me how retail brokers work. So they provide the software you can use to trade. That is obvious, but what do they do behind the scenes. Okay, so let’s say that I route my trade, and it is executed. How does it execute? And how are the shares transferred from the buyer...

    Experiences with OC Securities?

Let me first say I don't have any experience with them, but I did have experience with a broker that was very similar, luring you with good customer service, supposedly good commission fees, and other supposedly "free services." They're more sales people than anything, and they won't side with...

    Experiences with OC Securities?

Not worth it unless you're a gambling man. You will be losing and making money at a fast rate, but the commission fees will kill you. My hard earned 2 cents.

Charged anew 11,000% of comm. fees for 1900 trades, and 570% of money used to trade

Just an update. I sent my complaint to the IDA, and two months later I received its reply. Its reply repeated that of the broker's almost word-for-word. Surprise, surprise... the IDA completely ignored the issues I had asked them to address. My feeling is that they gave it to the broker, and...

Does your account manager know or remember you?

I'm not American, Canadian :). Anyway my broker prides itself on customer service, and justifies its higher commission fees on that. BTW how you pay $200-300K in commission fees with IB is beyond me. You must be trading with tens of millions.

Does your account manager know or remember you?

I made my broker about $12,000 within the last 10 months of 2005. I consider myself as having been an exceptional customer. I was surprised to find out recently that my account manager has no idea who I am. 1. Does this seem reasonable to you? 2. Don't account managers pay more attention...

Charged anew 11,000% of comm. fees for 1900 trades, and 570% of money used to trade

Thanks for support of some you here. First, nbates you made a decision based on transparent information. I, on the other hand, was supposedly mischarged over a 44 day period. My situation is the inverse of having an accidental deposit in my account: the broker's account got an accidental...

Charged anew 11,000% of comm. fees for 1900 trades, and 570% of money used to trade

Thanks again Bitstream. I'll definitely see what I can do with the CFTC. I think the CFTC might be relevant because the broker allows trades in US securities. white, when I signed up with X I was ignorant about what were good commission fees. Furthermore, I think X's commission fees were...
