Yes you get an Auth code when you sign up. Sometimes i do some analysis on 3 to 5 years of stock price data. But when I use the google finance way to load the data it usually never works. And i can't get the script to work.

Updated MSFT... you were right DB... is this considered a good coil test ?

Because right now I am only using a Mac and I dont want to buy excel again.

I don't know much about google scripts but i do use some simple data once in a while in a spreadsheet. Has anyone ever used Quandl data ? And if they have can they get the google script to work ? https://github.com/rossbarclay/quandl_google_spreadsheet_import

How do you chose a direction ? Are you a discretionary trader or mechanical ? Or do you blend styles ? Discretionary with a mechanical filter?

You are right, I am studying here... So my "trading day" starts at 3:30pm. So either I manually enter my positions at that time or input my predefined entry levels that hopefully will get hit so I enter a trade. I trade a little bit of Commodity and Country ETF's. So we do have that in common...

I usually trade US equities or ETFs... but sometimes i trade currencies... not just currency ETFs...

EXavier, the correlation is a rolling 20 days.... thats not that long. and as you can see it isn't perfect.

Laissez Faire, Oil and Oil related stocks as a whole have a strong correlation to each other.... here is the Oil and Gas exploration and production ETF (XOP) plotted above light crude ($WTIC) although the correlation is not perfectly correlated it is mostly positive.

One may make the argument that Oil prices are from supply and demand.... Supply is easy to determine (how much oil is being produced) but demand for energy is a global matter... so I plotted the World Stock ETF above and Oil below... and this is what you get. As you can see Oil has broken...
