Is there any mobile app that gives stock alerts during extended hours?

The app I am currently using for alerts is thinkorswim mobile app, which is pretty good. But it only gives alerts on equities during regular market hours. Thanks for any recommendation.

not a bad call to buy dip last Thursday

This is the updated chart as of yesterday afternoon. Typically it is not a good idea to override a proven working trading system. But in this case I am happy that I used discretion against those recent buy signals. I had doubts because they were just about 20 to 30 points off the all time...

not a bad call to buy dip last Thursday

Haven't updated this thread for a while. Got a couple more buy signals shortly after the last buy signal at essentially the same level. As the market touched the same level again today, I found myself still wondering whether to start accumulating calls or wait for more confirmation. This is why...

not a bad call to buy dip last Thursday

Got a buy signal this afternoon. I've noticed that buy signals often appear when there is strong buying force within a trading period, but can be earlier than the actual turning point. Therefore I am thinking maybe I should keep the puts now and wait until the next buy signal to confirm the...

not a bad call to buy dip last Thursday

Finally got a sell signal at around 1924/1925. I hate to sound like a broken record, but it is obviously not possible to get in at exact bottoms or out at exact tops, let alone a signal can be totally wrong. Again this is supposed to be a real time record of my signals, like a journal, not to...

This does have the sort of appearance of a crescendo, the lady singing at the end of the opera. She may not be completely done singing yet, as a solid sell signal has not been triggered, and I am not sure how much longer she is going to keep singing, but for the more conservative natured, taking...

not a bad call to buy dip last Thursday

For any kind of detection or diagnostic system, there is always a balance between sensitivity and specificity. In a perfect world, you would like to see 100% sensitivity and specificity. That is, whenever you make a call, you are always correct, and you do not have any missed calls. In reality...

not a bad call to buy dip last Thursday

updated chart as of EOD yesterday. The blue line rose above 10, indicating a coming pullback, although I cannot tell exactly when. But a sell signal has not been triggered yet. I am not being greedy and trying to squeeze out every last drop of juice, but I have nothing better to go by. I...

not a bad call to buy dip last Thursday

Updated chart. Again I like the sell signals a lot better, as they are few and far between, yet a lot more accurate. I wonder if I am getting noisy buy signals because we are in a bull market, therefore invisible hands are coming from everywhere to buy whatever dips there may be? If we were in a...

not a bad call to buy dip last Thursday

Got a couple more buy signals at 1865-1870 range. Again, I am not exactly sure what this means, and I am not buying at every signal, since some of them are essentially the same. Possibly, the numerous buy signals at certain levels indicate buying power providing support at such levels in the...

not a bad call to buy dip last Thursday

Upon reviewing prior signals on the latest chart, it is apparent that I have a lot more buy signals (black dots) than sell signals (red dots). The red indicator line is noisy and volatile, whereas the blue line is much cleaner and gives a lot fewer signals. But it does miss some of the 30 point...

Somebody asked me a question about SPY options. I am not familiar with this forum and its messaging system, and somehow that message got lost into the mysterious cyberspace. The answer is, SPY options are pretty liquid. You trade it the same way as you trade options of any individual stocks.

not a bad call to buy dip last Thursday

Updated chart from yesterday. No new signals, but I have changed the most recent sell point on April 3rd into orange color, just to get some perspective. Market has been choppy, and I have been taking some profits off table along the way. One way to do that with option is, as the option...

not a bad call to buy dip last Thursday

Attached chart shows recent signals. During the second week of April, a few buy signals were generated between the 1820-40 range. Another buy signal was triggered today at around 1858. (Recent buy points are now shown in a darker shade.) It seems that buy signals have been generated a lot...

Sorry, Richard, just saw your post. I don't study or trade the China stock market at all. I have no idea if it has the same internal dynamics as the US market. I don't even know where to get the market data for China. My guess is there are probably significant differences between different...

not a bad call to buy dip last Thursday

This morning the red indicator dropped just below 20 when S&P was around 1840. This would be considered as a buy signal. It needs to be noted that signals were usually profitable in the past does not guarantee they will remain profitable in the future. Nor will they time tops and bottoms...

not a bad call to buy dip last Thursday

My short signals are a lot less frequent than the long signals. But when they do present themselves, they are usually profitable as well. This means a lot. If short signals are profitable in this extended bull market, it is possible that the long signals will remain profitable in a bear market...

Yes. There might be a small pullback from here, around 30 to 40 points in S&P. I would not completely get out of long positions for such a shallow pull back, but one could consider hedging a bit.
