Options Swing Trader - The journey begins

Good luck all. Just realized why I never post on EliteTrader. Morons like MILESCFA is the reason, and I'm just too busy to deal with trolls like him/her/it. I'm out of this thread, but hope you succeed with your swing trading. It'll be much more profitable in the LT.

Options Swing Trader - The journey begins

quick message, basically i've been following battered financial stocks: GS, BAC, C, etc. I go with long calls mainly (sometimes straddles or spreads but not often) and hold for a few days. I find mean reversion almost always happening with GS for instance. I've held GS for up to 1 week in which...

Options Swing Trader - The journey begins

seems you are more into daytrading rather than swing trading. I find for me, holding a few days gives a much higher return (although you have to factor in the stress dealing with seeing your P/L go into the red). Learner, not sure if you're still around but have been hearing that there are some prop firms in Tokyo. But many deal primarily in commodities. i heard Jane Street Cap is here also, but other than that, can't find too much info. Probably would be a good biz venture if someone were to set up...

Thanks Learner as always. Matsui's charts are sufficient. I don't have an IB account but am thinking of opening one to also trade JP stocks. How is IB's Japan stocks platform? Also, do you know the difference in commissions between the two? Is there a significant difference?

Sorry, if I could ask another question.. Why do you use IB for JGB and Topix futures while using the Japanese plaftforms for Nikkei futures? Thanks.

Thanks Learner. Yeah, must be regulatory issue--looked all over for some prop firms but can't really find any. Kanji is ok for me, but would prefer English of course. Anyways, thanks for the info again.

Learner, Just curious..are there any prop firms here in Tokyo? I'm looking to find some to increase leverage, reduce commissions, etc.. Also, if there are any English language platforms you know of or can recommend for trading JP stocks/options/etc, I'd be very appreciative. Thanks so much.
