Interesting perspective. imo the best R/R shorting opportunity for GOOGL was late Oct when the stock ran into weekly and monthly resistance on the same day.
Today GOOGL did break and close below daily resistance (as I calculate) and still has a little room for more downside action although...
imo... a low risk long entry here with June level currently holding as support and a low volume area below around the same area. If it doesn't pan out there is not much pain on the trade.
If you knew the trend was up why did you stay short? How far does it have to fall now for you to get to breakeven since you have stated you have been short for quite a while now?
If you got long in Jan then you need 114 just to get back to scratch.

I did not know that is what she stated. If that is the case, then yes she probably would have been nicked once or twice during that time period.
I was using 2 SD as a benchmark to discuss how she or anyone else would have done using 2 SD as a guidepost which I use on some instruments and...
It moved outside 2 SD but ended the month back inside that level. That chart is one of the five charts attached to a post I made on page 21 of this thread.
Again, I am not endorsing her or her methods. I was just pointing out how it would have played out if those were the levels she was...
I think most people do understand the concept. Yes it happens sometimes, so does a 3 SD move, a 4 SD move, and so on. Under the right conditions, anything is possible. But if you think like that you should just put your risk capital under a mattress.
All I was showing was that "IF"...
I am not endorsing or bashing her, but here are some facts with screen shots.
Using SPX as an example, What if one were to sell calls / puts, covered or uncovered at or just outside two standard deviation levels? Maybe entering as price approaches one standard deviation level as a trigger or...
