Yeah I looked into TopStep. I'm a ways away from taking the combines. I think their initial training program costs ~$1.5k.

    Tower Hill Trading

yep, the problem is options these days are really limited for finding someone to train a newb from scratch with no deposit. I'm in the process of teaching myself but if I get distracted again, I'll just pony up a deposit with a more respected firm. As far as getting a lawyer, it's probably...

That comment on glassdoor and a few similar comments in other threads have me spooked. I don't think it's the right fit for me but I wish you the best of luck.

    Tower Hill Trading

I know that this topic has been posted before, but it seems like these prop firms can change quite a lot in a short time. I'm interested in speaking to anyone that has experience trading with THT and especially those that have gone through the training program recently. There are also a few...

    Tower Hill Trading Agreements

I'm a complete newbie and considering signing on with them just to learn via remote trading. I can afford to not have any income for a while due to my other job but I don't have a ton of $ to invest. Is the training here really that awful? Would I be better off getting ninja trader and teaching...

    Prop Firm near Austin Texas?

Same exact thing happened with poker. There was a time when I could make $300k/year easily. That time is long past and the edges keep getting smaller. Now I have to work my ass of to make $100k/year but there's no telling how long that will last. I definitely hear what you're saying about...

    Prop Firm near Austin Texas?

Looks like I'm 5 years late to the party. I'm looking for a prop shop in Austin. I have no experience trading so I'm looking for a shop with a competent training program. So far I've only found Kershner, Cypher, and RGM. Did everyone else shut down? Any thoughts or advice on these shops? Thanks...

Steps for underqualified traders to find a prop firm

Thanks for the suggestion. One of the traders here was kind enough to message me and we spoke on the phone this morning. In a nutshell he said the real challenge of getting started is finding a trader who has an edge and then convincing them that it's worth sharing. That's not a guarantee...

Steps for underqualified traders to find a prop firm

It sounds like I'll end up paying higher fees no matter what. As long as I'm working under good traders who want to teach me then I'm okay with that. That's the cost of an education. In the mean time I'll definitely set up a ninja trader demo account. thanks

Steps for underqualified traders to find a prop firm

Thanks for your input. If I was in your shoes I think I would tell me the same thing. However the idea of wasting 3-4 years of my life doing something that doesn't technically benefit my career terrifies me. I think my time and money might be better spent developing a track record in those 4...
