    Prop Firms On Park Ave?

Does anyone know of any POrop firms in the Park Ave/200 Park area? Sounds specific, but I have my reasons. Thanks, who?

Tips for trading at ECN Currenex,Hotspotsfxi

The Tier 1 PB's (UBS, BofA, Bear, Goldman, Deutsche, Barclays, etc) will all require large deposits to be your PB. At least the ones I know will want AT LEAST $5 million, but for the big names think $20 million or more. The White Labels that are Tier 2 (a) are MAN, FC Stone, FIMAT, Capital...

Reasonably functional grammar and spelling are prerequisites to launching a hedge fund. Well, OK. Maybe not. Just busting, T.

    Prop Shop Training

Oh, and Barclays Capital is a global powerhouse, but not in IB. They have some great traders on their desks, but aren't considered bulge bracket because they don't do major IB deals; therefore, they don't make the league tables. They are one to watch. Awesome company. That is, if you can get...

    Prop Shop Training

Bulge Bracket firms are the big ones I listed...i.e., the top firms. I don't know if I am missing anyone, but the unarguable bulge brackets are Merrill, Goldman, Morgan Stanley, Citi. Some would argue on the rest, but I still consider (maybe on an ever-so-slightly smaller scale) Bear Stearns...

    Prop Shop Training

If you are two years out of a top-tier college, why not B-School or MF? Or better yet, why not try to get in entry-level stuff at a bulge bracket firm. That's where the training is. That's where the hedge funds go to get the talent...IB firms where the training has already been taken care of...

    Has anyone experience with 'HotspotFx'?

If I remember correctly rollovers are priced in...that is, the cost basis on the pair is repriced accordingly. The other benefit is that Hotspot does pay interest on 100% of your balance. For instance, if you deposit $10,000, but you have $4,000 being used for margin deposits, you are still...

    Has anyone experience with 'HotspotFx'?

Hotdspot is the real deal. I will tell you that the demo is NOT an accurate picture of the platform. The real platform is much MUCH better. Prices are not accurate in the demo, and most order functionality is not turned on. When I went live things were much better and I had none of the...

Currenex, HotSpotFxi, Lava - Pimps for the Banks? - No Scalpers

Interesting. I would think that FX Connect would have SS covered. I am definitely curious as to what value SS sees. I love the CX platform and I guess enough people feel the same way. $564mm is a lot of money.

Starting a Hedge Fund with no Credibility

Question that is somewhat on topic: Regarding incubator hedge funds: This sound like a great idea for me, since I have my own and a few friends/family accounts that I am trading. However, I understand you cannot accept compensation for these. Is there any way around that? That doesn't...

    options prop firms

I am not sure of the regulatory issues with CFD's. I am a US citizen, and I know there are some issues with that. GCI is based out of Belize, I believe. Too scary for me. There has to be a better option for you.

    options prop firms

You do need a license with Echo. I believe if a company is an actual B/D then you would need a 7. Others are sub-LLC's trading their own accounts. I think the B/D route is safer, but I'm new to the prop thing so I am not 100% certain.

You might try Echotrade. I am looking into them now. I believe they do options through Merrill's clearing firm.

The road to becoming a successful Trader!!!

HAHA! Yes, true. Kiwi, remember Seykota's quote: Schwager: What can a losing trader do to transform himself into a winning trader? Seykota: A losing trader can do little to transform himself into a winning trader. A losing trader is not going to want to transform himself. That's the...

    Interested in a trading position

I hear you. Merrill has a great program. Still mostly sales oriented, but they do have classes on the economy and business cycles, portfolio theory, etc. You get to go away to Princeton campus and spend some time with Portfolio Managers (unless things have changed). I will never forget the...
