This is very good news indeed. I did some time testing with browser based TWS beta 940.1p and Multicharts64. The memory leak issue seems to be resolved, as javaw.exe size stays around 300 MB for hours. I hope the standalone version will show the same behavior with this fix ported to them. Thanks...

Since around two days, I do not get any connection to Historical Data Farm, please see the attached screenshot of IB Gateway (in TWS it's the same problem). I never had this issue before. Any suggestions are welcome.

I had another test with these parameters. With this setting, Gateway crashes after some hours as well, after memory usage gets to around 1.1 GB. For some reason, when I try to open the log file with HPjmeter, I get the failure message below.

pfranz, maybe the issue occurs only for the specific combination of Multicharts and TWS/Gateway 933+? But that's pure speculation, I didn't try any other API client than Multicharts yet.

I tried to integrate the Java log commands you suggested into the TWS shortcut target field, but there is a limitation of characters. Then I tried to start TWS via batch file, but I am not sure how to set the Java class path correctly. I will have another try later on.

Yes, it's not real tick data, but more a "consolidated" datastream that updates every few seconds.

Thanks for confirming that there actually IS a memory leak with TWS 933.5. If you try the more recent TWS versions as well (up to the latest TWS 938.1f) you should notice the same effect. So it's not just on my end. Maybe you want to try to download some historical tick data (say ~2 months)...
