Say your friend, a fellow trader,

The politest way would be to say, "You data sampling is likely too small." It's pointless to discuss things with people who believe they can defy nature and probability.

Are these rates out of line?

I have a suspicion that most seasoned prop traders know who they are through word of mouth, but no newb ever comes to ET before signing up. They probably only hear about the firm after a year of stewing in their own frustration and venting on ET

Are these rates out of line?

Yeah, and you're probably making them a nice 60k a year. And I'm sure they expect you to thank them for it. Welcome to the business. The thing is, most of what you were taught was probably pretty limited and becoming ineffective. Probably time to trade way less, read more, and teach...

HYBRID ....I can't see the difference...can you see the difference?

I haven't noticed any slow ECN fills at all. None. The tape is looking like a back and forth algo, rather than the sort of wind up and pop that used to be nice to focus on, and I agree that the tape is less interesting now (though I do not believe tape reading will ever be useless until there...

Are these rates out of line?

How'd I guess. I just saw some poor guy who just signed on with them too for .01225 per share, 45% payout, and even a ridiculous $7 ticket charge for every 1000 shares traded, locked in for 2 years (assuming he believes that non-compete will ever be enforceable). He'll never trade again after...

    Testosterone drugs for trading?

I personally get in a fist fight every day with cab drivers and random people on the street before sitting down at my screens. I once used to ask my wife to kick me in the balls for 2 minutes straight at 9:17, thinking it was the adrenaline rush, but I discovered my trading efficiency suffered...

Are these rates out of line?

Trust me dude, anyone would give you space and buying power. Lower costs if you go remote, also. I think I know your firm already, since I keep seeing people with sucker deals all coming from the same firm. Used to be sorta the thing under subs clearing through Andover years ago, but now it...

Are these rates out of line?

No, it is not a competitive rate at 50,000 a day. All you gotta do is call and ask around to see what you will get on your volume. Either that or learn to trade longer swings intraday on 10k - 20k shares a day. Which firm are you at and are you under a sub-LLC?

Are these rates out of line?

Yes, sub .004 is very common for experienced traders -- but obviously this depends on your volume, and rates are not climbing. I am not sure they have even bottomed, but if they have, it's possibly around .002 for the people I talk to doing 5-8 mil a month. I'm sure Genesis, Echo, Generic...

lescor uses that, and he obviously knows his craft very well. See if you can get a response from him.

    Averaging down is addictive

This is going to sound a bit presumptuous, but I honestly do not mean it to be so. There are times when averaging down is effective, and I assume that you obfuscate those times, because you characterize averaging down as "addictive." This means that you average down according to the usual...

Also, that is the funniest thing I have read on this site. Jesus Christ.

    Traders between 17-23

You're 18?! You seem (to me) like you know enough for a 32 year old. Not sure why I have that impression, just seemed to be the image I had.

How many stocks do you trade each day on average?

I'd say 10-15 stocks. I have a basic understanding of the riskiness of probably 80 other stocks, based on a few years of experience, but I avoid diving into them unless several factors line up.

    Is this a fair deal?

Yep, and I'm sure you can guess who it is. It's only a matter of time before this firm's reputation begins to reflect its business model. It's like they're begging the regulators to come shake them down, which will negatively affect the rest of us.

    Is this a fair deal?

Also, in case I am misunderstood, that is the worst deal I have ever seen. .01225-.0105 per share, even at 65k volume a day plus $7 / 1000 shares 45% payout 2 year non-compete I challenge anyone on ET to show me a prop deal, where all losses are passed onto the trader, worse...

    Is this a fair deal?

Wait a second... 1.225 to 1.05 per share? A ticket charge (the $7 per 1000) is outrageous when it's on top of a commission charge. Plus, the going rate in 2000-2001 was .01 a share. The volatility in the market has dropped out and rates have been falling across the board, plus I believe...
