    FX SCAM

From someone who has worked in brokerages for 8 years I confirm retail FX is a mugs game. too much noise , too much leverage almost never saw a client make money (well not for long). Only good FX trades are based on fundamentals i.e. eur/chf floor, Jap intervention etc.. Trying to pick...

    Bvsn

I'm short.. Just sold 300 shares in the premarket at 23.60 It looks like a typical Pump and Dump, a real turd of a company being pimped by unscrupulous crooks. Not a big position in case the pump continues to levitate the price.

    As Eurozone crumbles, Krugman panics.

The Nordic nations don't use the Euro.. Plus Norway isn't even part of the EU due to their love of whale hunting.

does the broker win when I lose

Quite easily if there is a clause in the customer agreement that no one reads that allows the broker to void any trade they want due to "mispricing".

does the broker win when I lose

Sometimes Yes, sometimes no. It depends on the Broker.. I have worked for a couple different brokers.. A small bucketshop FX operation that made their money from client losses and wouldn't pay out if someone won big. And a large broker with a variety of available markets who hedged their...

    Autotrading for ib

Just an update: I reported the bugs to the Tradelink Issues board. They were acknowledged and fixed in about a week.. Credit to to them. I'm looking forward to playing around with this, looks like it has a lot of potential if you're willing to get your hands dirty.

    Autotrading for ib

To be fair, reading through the thread it seems the issue was resolved at the time. I'm having an identical issue now though, maybe a bug crept back in in subsequent builds Reocurred here 2010 : Identical to my issue...

    Autotrading for ib

FX works fine, just futures have a problem. Will report issues as suggested, thanks. P.S. The issue is pretty much the same as one reported here in 2008 http://code.google.com/p/tradelink/issues/detail?id=61&can=1&q=tws%20futures

    Autotrading for ib

Tradelink is an interesting suite of software, but it just doesn't work with IB if you're trading futures. It can't seem to send the futures info to the TWS API correctly. Security not found and no quotes etc... Seems to work OK with stocks though. This is the current version I'm talking about.

    Tradelink programming

Don't bother with Tradelink if your Broker is IB and you're trading futures, it just doesn't work. Can't seem to handle sending the requests to the TWS API in the correct format.

Micro WTI and Brent New products

Seems IB still hasn't added theses contracts. I've started a request for them: http://www.interactivebrokers.com/en/general/poll/poll.php?sid=7496 Any IB clients who are keen for these contracts can vote there. Would make playing the Brent - WTI spread a little easier.

Micro WTI and Brent New products

Any one know much about the 2 new micro oil contracts listed on NYMEX? Supposed to go live today but I don't see them on my IB platform yet. http://www.cmegroup.com/trading/energy/crude-oil/micro-crude-oil-futures_contract_specifications.html...

    Trading the VIX future

The futures are priced in 0.05 increments. The Index is not a tradable instrument, it's just an Index. There is also a mini contract 1/10 the size of the big one. http://cfe.cboe.com/Products/Products_VIX.aspx
