    Dish

Cramer is always ranting about watching a company's financials and I've found him to be right about that discipline. Right now I'm watching something developing that could really rock their boat hard. I just can't see how it's happening and how a publicly traded company could...

    steadily falling stocks for shorting...

This may be elementary for most of you but I have found that using my rsi(2) and MACD scans works best for long term rising stocks, helping me to essentially buy on dips within an overall rise. The reverse has been true for me when shorting using rsi(10)EOD on stocks that have been falling...

    about Larry Swing

I get the general jist of opinions about "market gurus" on this site but I was wondering if anyone has any experience with Larry Swing of SWINGTRADES and his various services and software. He emails me everyday with tips and angles for trading and some of his stuff does make...

    RSI(2) comments anyone???

RSI(2) is charted on the "daily" chart. Those guys often used it alone but it's no Holy Grail. I use it as a confirmer along with the others I mentioned, as a short term trading help. I'm usually in and out in 1-3 days.

    RSI(2) comments anyone???

I should have added that I use the RSI(2) and the other TA steps I mentioned, on the daily chart ONLY, to determine if I should take the trade the next A.M.

    RSI(2) comments anyone???

The short version: Was a buy and holder for 20+ years. A couple years ago, for reasons irrelavant here, found myself trading more actively, i.e, scalping and swing trading. Made the usual mistakes and am still learning everyday. My methodology has come down to a watchlist of ETF's and small caps...

is it me or is anyone else..........

having trouble with Tradestation's data feeds today?? My platform keeps freezing up and as usual the tech people insist it's my equipment. None of my other 3 platforms is doing this. BTW, today is Wednseday, April 12...............

    Is your trading improving?

The old saw that it's capital preservation that saves the portfolio is true for me. My strategy picks tops and bottoms OK, it's the failure to stick to my stops that erodes the balances on trades that are placed too soon. As for the learning curve and am I getting better, yes, slow but sure. But...

"We all hold the keys to our own jail cells."

A pretty smart guy once told me years ago that we all have pretty much what we want. I didn't believe it back then, but the older I get, the smarter he seems to have been. In our society, there are apples hanging from trees almost everywhere. It's up to us to figure out how to pick them. A...

    Trading Women.

I have gone to younger issues, altho TA doesn't work consistently with them. They are more predictable if only in regards to their unpredictability. They have fewer hidden agendas and no unscrupulous market makers working against the "trader" behind his back. They are simpler in nature. And best...

    a dumb question??????????

I notice when I call the 2 brokerages I use everyday, they have "traders" who are busy, I would guess, "trading." For those of you who have been there, can you tell me, are these guys trading "against" their clients and their accounts, in other words, us??

    trouble with Tradestation...........

Has anyone had trouble getting your dividends on ETF's at Tradestation? They seem to "lose" mine and customer service hasn't been able to be of much help.

    Help...please

just say my adult son came to me and asked me that same question, I'd tell him a couple basic things and forego the well-intended philosophical and complex replies there are a lot of here. I'd tell him to read some basic stuf on the market just to make sure he knew the differences between things...

Be the master of your domain

I'm pretty new to scalp trading (2 years) but have fooled around with stocks for over 22 years. One method I tried is doing just what you suggest and it worked as long as I used limit orders and tight stops. The trick would be picking just the right stock. You'd have to determine what your...

FDG, PTF Canada trust with high yields

I mess around with my discretionary $ in those energy trusts as well as SOME domestic Hi Yield ones. You only have to be in them one day a month(the ex day) to get the whole months dividend. I take a position with limit orders a day or 2 before ex day and watch them, grab the dividend and then...
