Who is really making a living trading options??

Please read my original post again. I was not telling u or anyone how to trade. I was only giving a stock name with high IV each month as Darp was trading LNG. I was not asking for an education.

Who is really making a living trading options??

There was no need to get snotty in your post to me. I just made an alternative stock choice and not to you. Of course you made a snide comment with no facts to back it up.

Virtual trading room for Options Sellers ?

I have seen posts like 10% a month many times. NO ONE can do that. And no one who does that would post here asking for a virtual trading room. With 10% a month, who needs to see anyone else's trades if yours are doing so well. I would love to see the trades posted here. Like all the others...

Who is really making a living trading options??

Another stock you may consider is RMBS. High IV every month, more than LNG and maybe less of a price swing and less likely to go out of business or drop to near zero. Just a thought

What is best strategy to adjust a Straddle

Thank you Spin Dr and Elite. Good advice. I didnt think there was any difference in the strategies but will have to keep paper trading them.

What is best strategy to adjust a Straddle

I have seen 2 different strategies for a straddle when the underlying stock goes up or down a strike. 1. Lawrence McMillan in his book says if it goes up then sell the long put and roll it up a strike. You do the opposite if the stock goes down. You pay a little extra but are assured the...

$200 to $2million Calendar Spread Challenge

My guess is that the poster experienced what happens to everyone who thinks they can make money with a system. It didnt work. I havent seen an option system that does work.

$200 to $2million Calendar Spread Challenge

Thanks for the explanation. What had me confused was the placement of the month of March before February in your post. I am used to seeing it reversed with the near expiration month posted first. I got it now.

$200 to $2million Calendar Spread Challenge

Sean: Could you explain your most recent trade on SPY? It says 114 Mar/Feb for $1.00. I thought a calendar spread was selling near call and buying long term call? Could you let me know the exact prices and dates for the call you sold and bought. I dont see a Feb long call? I am...

List of most volatile stocks long term?

Does anyone know where I find a list of stocks that are most volitile up or down over a term or 6 months or longer? I would like to test some out for straddle options strategy. Most of the stock filters and list are only for the last 30 days usually in an earnings period. I need a list with...

    Making 1%/week selling covered calls

Dark: what is your plan if AMD falls to 2 in price and you have to buy it at 5 because of the put you sold?

    Making 1%/week selling covered calls

It is not possible to consistently make 1% or even close on covered calls. What do you do if the stock tanks? All you are doing is getting a little downside protection.

Anyone tried selling deep ITM Leap covered calls?

This seems to be a good way to get income even if the right stock declines by a lot. There are a number that can be sold with a 10% per year income and higher, good stocks and losses only occur if it drops 50% or more. Does anyone use this stategy. For example XMSR stock jan 08, 7.5 strike...

    Split stocks rising

I have noticed that if you buy a stock on the day of the split, which is the "ex date" and hold on to it a few months, it will almost always rise a significant percentage, much more than the market in general. One caveat is that the stock must split at least 2 to 1. I will comment on them and...

    Closed-end Fund Income Investing

Looked at JPS and it doesnt look good. Since 2003 the price has dropped from over 16 to under 13 now and the dividends have dropped too. Would not recommend it.

Making Mad Money with Jim Cramer

Hey Cramerholic: I notice that when I watch his show which starts at 6PM EST and he recommends a stock in the first part, the stock prices have already jumped. My question is: there must be an internet site that allows someone to find out which stocks will be profiled on his show. DO you...

Making Mad Money with Jim Cramer

What exactly are you using for your trading. YOu indicated you were going to change the time you bought in the AM because of the gap ups and also change the stop and limits. What are you using now?

    Closed-end Fund Income Investing

Keep up the good work Optioncoach. I appreciate your good research. I have invested in CEF before, but never did the proper research, so I was not succesful. I do have one question. You mentioned putting a stop loss for the percent of the dividend. Say its 7%. What if the shares drop 7% in...

Making Mad Money with Jim Cramer

Love your journal and how you are tweaking it. I was going to suggest you not buy at the open. I would say 90% of his picks gap up 40 cents and a lot more before the open. I will check some of his picks in earlier months to see if your new system works better. Only need to pick 3 out of every...
