Do you need to file an IRS 8949 trading Section 1256 contracts?
Is IRS 6781 + Schedule D sufficient?
The Turbo Tax POS software does not feed into 8949 properly and entered all zeros.
My net tax result was correct with zeros on 8949 since schedule D was correct.
So nobody made money trading futures on this site and uses Turbo Tax, why am I not surprised!

No such thing as a form 1256, you traded "section1256" contracts, which get filed on IRS form 6781.
My question is, does one need to file IRS form 8949, as well, or does IRS 6781 and Schedule D do the job.
Turbotax makes a mish mash of this.
You get filled on 300 and it then becomes your bid on 200 until somebody else bids higher.
The first marketable order(s) to reach the "floor" get filled, market orders get filled before limit orders fyi. Price always takes priority then time.

Really....you don't say, how much capital would you say say this takes?
Most posters on here have less than $2500 in a trading account and can only trade intra-day with a $500 performance bond.
Most under-capitalized traders WILL NOT average a point a day and will lose all of their capital first. If your target is a point, then what is your risk, two tics? You will be stopped out 95% of the time.
