    Backtesting during 90th

My system works just fine during last 5 years, including the bear market. However it doesn't produce good results when I run it during 1990-1998. Does it really matter that my backtesting doesn't work far back, but works during last 5 years and has over 500 trades? Anybody had similar...

    your sysytem win/loss ?

What is the win/loss ratio of the system that you guys trading? I'm trying different things and usually get 40% win/loss with 3:1 profit factor. I was wondering how many trade 60%+ win/loss or higher profit factor.

How will you rate this system?

Did you ever think that this system might use % of capital on every trade and keeps compounding? So if you lose 20% in the beginning it'll be only $4000 vs when you have 60,000 then 20% would be 12,000?

How will you rate this system?

It's a fresh screen performed at eod and each morning and there are about 10 that qualify, could be less of course. As far as 100K - I agree with you, you definetly need to have enough cash, what i was saying is that since it's for day-trading purpose with one entry and one exit it...

How will you rate this system?

It has no more then 10 open positions, and trades any stock that fits certain criteria in the morning. Also, I don't think you can trade this system with more then 100K because slippage will be too high. But it's good for generating some cash...

How will you rate this system?

System trades stocks only. There are 4 parameters (I don't know if it's a lot or not). Not much optimization, I just wrote a code based on what I see happening in the markets, tried to keep it simple.
