    arcabook multicast colo

Probably a long shot, but -- Anyone out there in Manhattan with a subnet that has arcabook multicast with space to resell? Good feed costs are too expensive for me, but I figure there's someone out there with extra space on a subnet who'd be wiling to take money in exchange for a network...

China will be the top economy in 20 years

What makes you think outsiders can't figure stuff out themselves? They are and they will. The US is now a third world country because its policies are totally socialist. Even McCain is a god damn socialist. His record is pure ttrash.

China will be the top economy in 20 years

Muslims have no power. The "radicals" are all just CIA operatives that are there to scare Americans into thinking there needs to be a war.

paper trading accounts for automated trading?

Any brokers that have this service, even on delayed data? And do I have to have an account? I'd like to test some stocks/options trades on a paper trade account.

Why is the dollar getting stronger?

We are not amused. "They" = the market. They are always amused.

Why is the dollar getting stronger?

Has something fundamentally changed? Why has the dollar been going up. Are they pricing in the fact that they think interest rates won't go down anymore?

Data Feed with a Good API, and not a ridiculous price

Life is good for NYC landlords

Not true. Chinese grad student got killed there three weeks ago because of all the housing projects right there next to Columbia.

Life is good for NYC landlords

Have you ever applied any quantitative ASS-et pricing model to any of these women? I hope you have leverage.

Life is good for NYC landlords

Who cares what the women look like. The water in NYC is bad, so you're guaranteed to get some bipolar lunatic who cheats on you for 5% off on a coke transaction. I've said it before on the forums, but as soon as I save up 150k, I'm going to get a trailer, move into the boonies, and live off...

Life is good for NYC landlords

I'm getting old and I'm still (in my eyes) poor. Women just don't seem that interesting anymore -- and if they do, it's only for a few minutes and because I'm procrastinating from doing something more important.

Life is good for NYC landlords

I used to make $93,000/yr and lived on the Upper West Side for $1500/month, but I had a 5th floor walk-up. I gained more weight than lost on that 5-flight because I became super lazy and never wanted to leave because of the stairs. UWS was good, but 5th floor walk-up is never ever worth the...

Do stock market makers make any money?

So if there's no sure fire way, how are MMs adjusting how they offer liquidity? There's no way they can properly be on the bid AND ask to get the 1 penny perfectly. I can see them sitting around at 5-10 cent levels and taking liquidity when they want, but at 1 cent?

Do stock market makers make any money?

I can't see how it'd be done in a 1-penny spread stock. Anyone out there in this business? How do these guys make money anymore? The other question is -- without order-flow analysis, how do people quantitatively come up with prices for what the stock should actually be? I see how it works...

    FIX Testing

You get three filled messages, so you maintain a data structure that persists and then gets "matched". I posted what I did because I've used both broker APIs and done certification testing for various ECNs. You don't gain that much of an edge because you've already "lost"[1] if you're using...

    FIX Testing

Unless you work for some hardcore operation managing millions, your broker APIs that are non-FIX are your best bet.

$9 Gallon of Milk, $8 Gallon of Gas: Oh Really?

The energy price was bound to make its way into the domestically produced goods eventually. If you forecast further devaluation, the prices seem reasonable. Obviously, there'll be short-term distortions; however, I think we're at the start of a major commodities leg that will shake world...

$9 Gallon of Milk, $8 Gallon of Gas: Oh Really?

This thread ignores dollar devaluation. Dollar goes down, commodities go up. Factor in the dollar decline and all the prices make perfect sense.

Obvious question, but I'd like an official answer.

No one wants to work for you anyway because you have poor reading comprehension. There is nothing illegal about looking for legal loopholes in the law or trying to explore options. Some of us don't appreciate excessive government regulation and search all of our options.

Obvious question, but I'd like an official answer.

I don't want to front run. I'm not even in a group that trades stocks. I just want to trade for fun.
