This is true. My system is a trend following system. I don't trade countertrend in Forex, you'll get your teeth kicked in. I would do some mean reversion stuff on equities and futures, but not on forex.

I agree. I have a price feed from 240 banks and it's always within a 1-2 pips of my broker. I don't use stops. No issues on my end.

I know Strategy Runner has a direct link to FXCM. SR will charge you I believe $65/mo. Also MCFX is coming out with automated execution with FXCM as well and that will cost $100/mo. Either way you'll most likely have to find a 3rd party software vendor that links up with your FX broker.

Everyone has access to hidden liquidity on index futures (i.e. ES). It's not like equities with there are many different markets. The index's are trading on 1 exchange (i.e. CME).

Cut the kid a break, he's only 18. I think futures trading would be too much exposure for your capital base. If you like to follow 1 thing (which makes sense) I think another poster recommended FX trading. This may not be a bad idea for you because you can watch 1 currency pair and also...

You can tape read ANYTHING that has Price and Volume. I attached a recent article from Technical Analysis of Stocks & Commodities that Mav posted in another thread it pertains to stocks but can be applied to any market with price and volume.

I saw like 3 1000 lot orders go off back to back on DOM and T&S's. It was crazy, I though news def. broke. Now I'm thinking it was a fat finger b/c price just tanked back down. Prob some jr trader on a hedge fund desk screwed up the order, ha.

I'm I the only one that smells a rat on this thread. Anyone claming that trading is easy raises a red flag for me. Looks like a plug for Swiss Capital. But I could be wrong...

This might of worked a few years ago, but all the markets route to each other. And if there is any ineffieciencies you'll be battling with the black boxs that trade is nanoseconds. Better off spending your time doing research on a real strategy....
