Cramer said Friday that we have pretty much hit a bottom and the market is "way oversold." So now 95% of the trading world is expecting a big rally on Monday. And I'm wondering if Mr. Market will do everything possible to show us we're wrong.

Maybe the index never goes to zero, but your return can easily be zero or even negative! What would have happened if I bought SPY five years ago and held long? Hmmm....

Any more thoughts on this please?

Does Platinum move in accord with Gold? Also: Are there any equities that represent platinum? Either an ETF or some kind of investment trust like StreetTRACKS Gold?

In April 2005, the Board of Directors of PENY.OB liquidated the stock, and thus ended what appeared to be a somewhat successful year (stock moved from .005 to .009 in four months). Are there any other penny index funds out there? Forgive my n00b-ness, Jay

Trend Fader, I am not sure why you keep raving about how great hedge fund managers are doing. The only thing they've done well in 2005 at doing is creating a lot of bagholders.

Interesting. I was hoping to get into some dividend-declaring real estate stuff, which didn't seem to drop in value upon dividend declaration. But if you all seem to think it's a wash, I suppose it is.

Is it really a wash? I see reports along the lines of "Company XYZ" issued a 68 cents per share dividend today. Now if I had 1000 shares, I just got a $680 paycheck. In that case, are you saying the company stock would suddenly drop by 68 cents a share the next day before I can even sell...

What would stop someone from trading twice a week or so and keep buying stocks just as they're declaring a dividend, get the dividend, then cash out and move on to the next ready-to-declare-dividend stock?

Both of those answers help me. My aim was to stick to reputable small-caps in both the NYSE and NASDAQ. I feel comfortable going forward with this, taking the angle of 3-4 day swing trades. Thank you very much for replying! (I'll still listen to anyone else's input)

CHLE gained 59% on NASDAQ today. Can I buy this Monday and swing trade it next week, or does it have nowhere to go but down???
