A bird in the hand Is worth two in the Bush

Good wisdom as usual from FT71. I have a similar setup. I simply mark the day during the times I make most money. Once I reach 11:00 AM I check how much I've made. If I give back 10% of that, I leave the room for an hour. If if I give back another 10% of that original figure, I stop until...

    Trading Women.

No one with any self-esteem or intelligence would act the way you do. People with a low self-image end up provoking people in order to have their image confirmed for them. As such I have no problem being holier than your type.

It's unfortunate that normal people have to be associated with people like this when they identify as traders.

Giving Up on Prop - What Next?

Heh, with low volatility comes a lower signal:noise ratio. But every now and then someone will pop in with something useful to say, that isn't a projection of their own issues. :) If you haven't been out of college for more than ten years you could possibly tap some alumni resources. Met...

Giving Up on Prop - What Next?

I love the endless stream of unhelpful insults that appear in replies to every post.

Price Action. Please clarify something for me

Steve, I'd suggest www.hardrightedge.com When I began trading on a more technical basis, this site was the main one that taught me to see these types of things. Check under the Traders' Wheel section.

    Overnight leverage

    Ah okay.

    Overnight leverage

I think a better question is why do you keep trying to harrass the guy?

Switching from scalping to swing. Suggestions?

With the amount of sleaze out there who can open an LLC, find shady ways to charge you, and then try to legally stick it to you if you leave, I'm not too trusting. If I could day trade through something established like IB I wouldn't have a problem putting money down. Getting trapped in a...

Switching from scalping to swing. Suggestions?

Thanks for the advice. I had no idea 30k bp was that hard to get or that it's really a 2:1 game, since I've only been doing prop. It seems I'll need to create two separate accounts then and continue day trading where I'm at.

Switching from scalping to swing. Suggestions?

Jesus Christ, I'm not looking for that leverage overnight. I want to continue day trading while slowly experimenting with holding 200 shares until I can get a sense of how feasible switching would be. What I'm looking for is an account that might be legally defined to both day trade and swing...

Tips on Reading the NYSE Specialist

Interesting. I'd like to know what's going on there, as I have seen that a few times as well.

Switching from scalping to swing. Suggestions?

I am very new to options since I haven't had the capability to trade them. I don't yet understand theta/vega, etc. or the pricing of OTM options, so it'll take a bit of study first. But it's great to get a range of ideas first as a headstart. Much appreciated.

Switching from scalping to swing. Suggestions?

Ah right. I already incorporate that into my normal style, except those trades tend to be more rare (thus quick dimes are a normal routine). It's too hard to focus only on momentum as there's a lot of waiting involved, unless you have a good filter. Basically I'd prefer to keep that option...

Switching from scalping to swing. Suggestions?

Very interesting suggestion. You're suggesting buying options only, and only to hedge swing trades? Much appreciated. I'll mentally bookmark this idea.

Switching from scalping to swing. Suggestions?

I've thought about Bright actually, although I've heard rates tend to be a bit high. Depending on what info I get about certain firms I might PM him. How do you define momentum trading? I've always thought of it as breakouts or breakdowns, regardless of the holding period. I'm just looking...

Anytime. There's really no way someone like you or me could ever figure these types of mechanics out without hints from those with experience on the floor.
