Residency and avoiding state income tax

Interesting idea, I think I'm not in a situation where this makes sense. My network footprint could certainly be a problem, but my thought is that a state would need a reason to investigate this. I've never lived in the state I've just "moved" to, and I can't think of a scenario in which this...

Residency and avoiding state income tax

Recently moved in with my long-term girlfriend, into her home in a high-tax state. She's in an excellent job situation, and despite my state income tax exceeding her total income, living elsewhere isn't happening for the next few years. I'm a self-employed futures trader. I own no taxable...

    Platforms for trading futures spreads

Standard Xtrader allows for exchange listed spreads, Xtrader Pro also allows you to create your own spreads. You're correct on everything. Autospreader is the Xtrader Pro functionality that allows the user-created spreads. If you're interested in Pro, I assume that you want to trade non-...

Building My Trading Rig (A Documentary)

I've seen this screen, but the "If this is the first time you've seen..." applied to me, so I simply rebooted and had no issues. If that doesn't work for you, good luck, you'll likely need it.

SEASON 2, thursday TV WALLSTREET WARRIORS

Lance and a couple other guys from his group go to my gym. I've never had any extensive conversations with them, but can't say anything bad about they way they conduct themselves. I haven't seen Jim there for a few months.

Building My Trading Rig (A Documentary)

The "best" option is this one: 4GB, 800MHz, DDR2 SDRAM Memory, ECC (2 DIMMS) [add $550] However, that price is absurd. Two 2GB sticks of the absolute best DDR2 can be had for under $150 (that's under $150 total for the 4GB) from any number of computer part retailers. Looks like Dell bought...

SEASON 2, thursday TV WALLSTREET WARRIORS

What exactly do you want to see? They're not going to have some analyst talk about his research. Do you want an educational program? Leery of friends/family seeing the show and thinking that this is what you do?

SEASON 2, thursday TV WALLSTREET WARRIORS

Far too much whining in this thread - the show would be much less entertaining without the boiler room guys.

SEASON 2, thursday TV WALLSTREET WARRIORS

The cotton option broker is exactly that - a broker, not a local. Any local who is successful long-term is simply arbing the paper in the ring, not taking speculative crop report positions. The crop report talk is nothing more than a habit useful for drumming up business from her customers. She...

    Trading and eye strain....?

Quality LCDs should solve the problem. Looking at cheap Samsung LCDs (TN panels) for half an hour bothers my eyes - but I can look at Eizo LCDs for 12+ hours with no issues.

Three 24" Widescreens in Portrait Mode

Running three Eizo 20" 1600x1200 in portrait orientation on NVS440. Two of the NVS 280/285/290 will do you just fine as well. The bundled Nvidia software is great.

Acetaminophen. Taken about 10 of them over the past six months, I think I have a drug problem. No maids.

Here's mine - I position trade Nymex heat and crude spreads. It's actually my home 'trading station'; most trading is done out of my office.

    What's the difference between a Ferrari and a pile of dead babies? . . . . . . . . . I don't have a Ferrari in my garage.

    Trade-through protection on CL opts

I don't know what the 'rule' states, but if your limit is traded through a local will take your broker out of his error. Your order is the responsibility of your broker and his clerk(s); there is no system in place for non-marketable orders.
