After thorough testing today, my SPX and Dow Quarterly A down levels held and price closed above. What a day. Still need follow-through to believe they held.

Since markets are closed Monday I believe that quote includes Friday's losses. Still down tonight, but not quite that much

High-Low Range Charts - Market Breadth Analysis

http://northmantrader.com/2016/01/17/pendulum-swing/ This is an excellent article on market breadth that warns that although Bears may ultimately prevail, the market may be positioned to bounce soon.

My Quarterly A down was hit and held Friday for the Naz and RUT. I also had successful tests on Banks, Biotech, Semis and Miners. The S&P and Dow are just a little lower. I didn't buy these tests ahead of a long weekend but will watch to see if we've come down far enough for at least a decent...

If my A confirms I add (or subtract for a short) the value of my A to the confirmed price level to set a new target. I find that A, 2A, 3A etc works well if prices are strongly trending.

Trilogic, since you pulled up one of my old posts, I thought I’d chime in. You’ll read throughout this tread that there isn’t one magic way to calculate ACD levels, That’s right. The magic is when you develop a methodology that makes sense to you and that you apply every day exactly...

Maverick recently posted a few comments on the ISSE index. They have data on their website going back to 2002. The all securities value of 41 registered yesterday is the lowest reading in the entire data set. As I understand it, based on history, the low of this move may occur within a few...

The SPY and DIA both had failed monthly A down yesterday while IWM and QQQ did not test their levels. It's bullish to see the more speculative issues perform relatively better yesterday. The IWM has been very weak since early July so it will be interesting to see if the small caps strengthen...

I want to thank you guys for all the postings and willingness to share information and experience with ACD. I first started to work with it about 8 months ago. I found this site with a google search and have read the whole thread. Although I’ve been a market participant for many years my...

Agreed, the monthly A down will be a challenge if it gets that far. It has confirmed my daily and weekly A up levels.

SMH up like a rocket this morning.

Granted SMH would be a contrarian play, it's certainly among the weakest of the sector's. I'm just now expanding out to the sector ETF's so will watch with interest.

The Semi's have been very weak recently, but SMH tested and held the quarterly today at 29.60. There may now be potential for longs in this sector.

Thanks for the feedback Quon, I guess I'm not being clear. This may be in part because I've modified Fisher's method. I use the ATR of the OR for each time frame I'm looking at. Rather than use 20 - 25% of the daily ATR for the daily A I use a multiplyer on the OR ATR. The methods are...

I use the same methodology for the higher timeframes as I do with the daily. I've been using the same multiplyer, but question whether it should be the same or a different value.

    The ACD Method

I have a question for the experienced ACD users. I've become very comfortable with my daily A numbers, but have fewer data points for the weekly and monthly. Using my methodology my weekly A tends to be 2.5 to 3 times the value of the daily number and the monthly tends to be about 2.2 to 2.5...

Nice bounce today off 1290! Not far from the weekly A up, we should see that tomorrow.
