    Closing Prices with extended hours

Hi, yes I noticed that too - particulary on the 28th when the eurostox close print was way up above 50 from the last bar price at 3443. Is there a closing auction ?

    Bund asleep for August ?

being a relative newbie to the bund - does it tend to die a death during the August holiday season ? Since the 19th July seems to have been pretty rangebound (maybe volatility blown itself out since bombs?) Any views from seasoned bond traders much appreciated

    Dax today ....

yep, shorting a stong creeper strong trend is a bold move  FTSE's key level recently seemed to be 50% retrace of bear mkt drop - maybe the same for Dax ie 5170 area ? Although FTSE broke through it..... 500 point leg up to 4640 area - so maybe another 500 on this puts it above 5000 ?

What is the deal in the BUND futures

on the weeklies, it looks as if it is going parabolic - 130 ? on the dailies think it has become to obvious on buying the dips ie too many people long 2nd half of weds and yest looks like the big shake out to clear the air And the daily bar pattern for yest (thurs) looks like it has...

    Bund price spikes ....

probably don't want to work an order if it is trading 84-85 and have 10k to buy , they may pay up 90 for 10k, with avg of say 87.5. If mkt is jumpy and they just bid 85 for 10,000, taking 1000 at 85 say, they will move mkt up a few and end up paying more in the end, so it gives them...

    Bund spike at 15.11 local

No - but also interested in those that do. I've been looking into it for trades off the 30/60min and daily charts. Don't have the balls for overnight futures positions, but for 2-7 day trades off bigger time frames it seems like a good way of participating with a known downside. With a...

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Don't know whether it will hold, but todays low area of 1.2920 is the 61.8 retracement of the whole leg up from: 127.89 area to 131.44 It looks too rolling top like on the hourlies to hold
  17. T

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

Looks like another news reversal day, albeit not as strong as yesterday. Mkt doesn't seem to care about dollar bullish news. Bunds not as supportive to Euro as yesterday
  18. T

    Chinook's EUR/USD (E/$)Mumblings

usually a lot of false moves before 8am-9am european time

Any Ex-bund bobl traders finding more success in other markets?

True Even after Xmas the bund had some nice moves for a bit, how different now. Today's range looks like the bund has been reading this thread !! Am sure the volatility will come back some day, just might take a while (and might have a zimmer frame by then)

Any Ex-bund bobl traders finding more success in other markets?

If you've come from fixed income, the Euro (or for that matter any FX) will make your hair stand on end.:) CB - Com costs don't seem an issue when something gives 20-70 pip moves like that, but I guess it all adds up at the end of the day.
