Thanks for having me. Could use some advice.

Firstly, you should be pretty happy with a 20-30% gain. Most people would kill to consistently hit this number on an annual basis. Second, as mentioned from put seller, managing risk should be your first thought. Think, "how much can I lose?" Rather than, "how much can I make?" Some simple...

Does this trick, bypass the Pattern Day Rule?

Also, you cannot make 4 day trades in a 5 day period. You can ONLY make 3. You can place the fourth order, but will not be able to exit it (the same day) without it tripping the PDT rule. Another thing about the cash account. If you're using just options that's one thing. And some people...

Dividend portfolio with margin and hedge

From what I took from his post I don't think he's trading the options. I think* what he's wants is this: To leverage out on high divy stocks, Hedge the the stock position by using options (probably with puts), Collect the dividend and unwind the rest of the position. What a perfect...

Dividend portfolio with margin and hedge

Remember and learn something really quick: If it were simple and easy, everyone would be doing it. Yes, you could use margin to buy high divy stock and use options to hedge individual positions. But keep in mind, you will be paying a premium to purchase puts (assuming that's how you'll be...

    Option us massive returns

That's because there so uncommon (as you know). For 1500% return you usually need the underlying to fall by a huge percentage. Like when GMCR shaved half its market cap last earnings. Sure we expected a big move, but 50% ?

    Series 56 Content

Well, I guess I can't say if it is enough for you to pass the test. I used the passperfect manual and I passed first try. Half of the book is options and equities, but honestly, most of the test is on rules and regulations. A lot of it, in my opinion, depends on your previous market...

    Optionhouse

I use OH for my options trading. You can trade equities through them as well. Other things such as Forex, bonds, and futures I am pretty sure you cannot. Their trading platform is okay, it IS web based and isn't the best, but does a pretty good job depending on what you're using it for...

Beginner's question - when to stop?

Johnny, What do you mean..? (At least to me) your title makes it seem as though you have a lost a fair amount of your acct. and are wondering "when" you should stop. But then by saying "90% lose is very wrong" it makes it seem as though you schooled the game aka the market. unless you're...

    Capital Traders Group

out of curiosity...does anyone trade at the Chicago office. I see it listed on CTG's website. But I believe it may be JC trading? All sub branches are owned by WTS ultimately, so I believe technically they are the same thing. Anyway, just wondering if anyone is there/used to be there and...

    Blowing Up

Honestly. Who the hell are YOU. To come out here and say what will and won't help, and say that everything in the market is a suckers game. YOU were a sucker and it is a hard and difficult path, surely, but that does not mean one simply should not pursue it. Should a high school football...

I am not fooled...it is time to sell sell sell!

We hear ya. But this market isn't rational. it's not right. Look at the days where everything trades up, oil, gold, equities, the USD. it doesn't make sense. You'll see the VIX +/- 10%, yet levered volatility flat. I mean this market makes no sense, and all you can do is trade since you...

    My option trades

Falcon looked at the implied VOL. that's why it's so expensive. It's over 100 for most/all front month options. you're paying a ton for vol which is why it seems so expensive to you

Prop Trading - What do I need to do to break in?

Like weve said earlier, you don't need to "get into" a prop firm. If you have 5 grand you can get into 90% of the firms out there. If you want to get into the best props you need 10-25k. This isn't some playing field that's near impossible to get into. If you've got the dough, they'll have a...

    The APPLE Crash

I believe that mostly due to no one buying the iPhone 4 in anticipation to the release of the iPhone 4s. Those that were eligible simply waited for its release instead of "settling" for the 4.

Anyone with good choices for daytrading options

yes, the apple trade has been phenomenal this week, ESPECIALLY if you've been using options. I have been doing good also trading POT, but that's more of a personal stock I trade so I have better feel for it, rather than being super liquid. QCOM has been good to me lately too.
