Best Firm For Large Option Orders

Thanks for mentioning OptionHouse. I just learned that my buddy uses them [believe it's sister company BrokerHouse, same platform] because they understand the nature of the particular option plays he puts on. He calls a specific broker whom was assigned him, when necessary- which isn't...

Best Firm For Large Option Orders

DeltaHedge Thanks much for your take. Not to bash eOption at all, just to say my search reveals that not all are served optimally at one brokerage vs another. "Fit" is of maximal import. And, determining whom is a fit~ reveals much more about my trading and influences thereon! What...

What are some good educational resources for a beginner?

The learning of and application of rules in covered calls have increased profits, increased a higher probability outcome, than the other methods...in the right market. For a while I though credit spreads were the ticket. Perhaps now debit speads makes sense; with a straddle on to insure...

What are some good educational resources for a beginner?

First options experience for me was writing covered calls on a stock in my portfolio that was stagnant. Watching time decay at work bought them back shortly netting a nice percentage; and immediately sold again same strike next month out. It startled me that I could churn revenue out of a...

    TD Ameritrade let down

Thats interesting Kevin. Are TD Int'l customers allowed access to world exchanges? I've wanted to trade some on Toronto, but was told no-can-do. IB sure opens up Int'l everything.

    Which one..

Frank, thanks for asking. I was guessing, so I just went back and tallied again. 83K was transacted, that is shares...that's what I had on my mind, so 830 contracts some BUYs some SELLs on Friday. Yeah, 70,000 contracts...nope. Not a norm for me, though. More frequent and...

Best Firm For Large Option Orders

Oh: it IS! Exactly the type info I was hoping to glean from this group. Thank you, very much! I noted the $.25/contract if Direct Access; and as low as $.10 if not. You can then- select on a trade by trade basis? What of ECN fees? Do they charge for changes in limit? Partial...

    TradeMonster

It really is an eyeopener: 100% SOLD; not 1 order to an exchange! Got me wondering about TDAmeritrade's small print about routing to verifiably "reliable" entities. Does reliable mean prompt kickback?

Shortie's Pseudo-scientific Method Predicts SPY 104 as The Bottom

The talks in Jackson Hole this week may offer a clue. I chose 20%. [or more, to go...question is: over what timeframe]

Best Firm For Large Option Orders

Thanks eliever, will do. I also like their policy of allowing more options strats in an IRA, such as put writing [not naked], and the choice of platforms. I have never used RealTick, have you?

    TD Ameritrade let down

Oddly, it was a ZSL exit I was about when their system froze yesterday. Called again last night and talked with somebody there with more horsepower. He admitted they had a bad week with the system and especially yesterday...which he attributed to them fully absorbing ThinkORswim this week...

    Which one..

Thanks in advance. Yesterday was a high volume day form me around 70,000 contracts. Mixed bag of strategies with a goodly amount of day activity with some other positions setup in spreads etc. Still trying to learn of other direct access brokers, another on here listed...

Best Firm For Large Option Orders

Thanks for the link-aid elievers. I'm looking for a direct access broker favorable toward my options bias. EOption looks intriguing...Barrons lowest cost option schedule for occaisional or heavy volume trader. They offer a choice of several platforms and allow put writing and spreads within...

Since I'm shopping for a broker, the disclosure on da boys from Chicago is much appreciated Jeb. Legalized skimming! Since Flintstone Trading isn't up and running, anybody got a recommendation for a good direct access outfit for a guy heavily skewed toward options?

    Which one..

Ready to change from TD. I trade options mostly and cost is a consideration. Looks so far, that IB has that advantage. TradeStation has some attractors too. Has anybody got an experiential take on either; or another direct access outfit?

How to improve your laptop performance?

Thanks for the link to Eddie Z. Very good take on what works for trading. Solid ideas & advice. He likes SSDs. I sure like the one in my laptop which I'm far less careful with than a laptop with a hardrive; and very quirt- no noise at all. Plus, they transfer data faster.

    TD Ameritrade let down

TD let me down today, again. There system kicked me off 4 times, while entering a trade. Worse, in final 5 minutes of trading their system slowed down to the point of freezing right as an order was being placed. That cost me. Not my issues, theirs. Upon calling, was told how to log on...
