Who has the best Historical Tick Data?

There must be a set of ticks that don't ever change (for example, if you go far back enough, I would imagine that ticks from x years ago will remain the same forever...x being some number greater than zero). I mean, do you really think that historical tick data from 2005 is being changed due to...

Who has the best Historical Tick Data?

I would imagine it is not too difficult to amass a database of tick data from all the stock and futures exchanges from the beginning of time until present. Why Haven't I seen any torrents out there for this kind of thing? Tick data is basically like a history book: actual trades that occurred...

Taking actual delivery of a futures product

Suppose I open an account with a futures broker and buy a contract of GC (gold). If I hold on to that contract until expiry, will that mean that I will have 100 oz bar of gold shipped to my house? Of course, they would require payment before actually delivering to my house (because only $500...

    Dell’s new 24 inch monitor

I recently bought 4 of these for only $225 each with no sales tax. I hope they turn out to be good for trading. I previously used low energy 17" AOPEN monitors. How much of a discount would I have gotten were I to have bought directly from dell? Just curious...

    Is my career over?

Thanks for the positive comments. I appreciate it. While I'm up so much money in my account now, I have to be very careful that I don't let it get to my head. I need to just keep on doing what I've been doing these past few months and not let my performance affect my decision-making...

How Many Real Time 10-min Charts Can We Have Open Simultaneously Before Problems? Ib?

I think the problem is with IB not with my charting software. The more charts I have up, the slower the backfill is and the more likely my system freezes

How Many Real Time 10-min Charts Can We Have Open Simultaneously Before Problems? Ib?

I use amibroker to accept the data from IB. Now you say quotetracker will be able to handle huge dataload....but the problem is not with AMIBROKER but rather with IB not feeding the data to AMIBROKER fast enough thus causing my system to freeze.....now how would quotetracker work any better?

It is IMPOSSIBLE to make money in the markets

One name for you: SPUD WEBB, shortest player in NBA history quite successful.... Now if you are telling the people who really don't belong in this game to go home, I understand you. But what I'm saying is that the financial markets have a way of weeding out those who really don't belong...

It is IMPOSSIBLE to make money in the markets

Go home? That's your advice to people who try "real hard" but don't touch success? I disagree. Determination, perseverence, unrelenting drive to succeed will get you where you want to be. I don't believe I'll ever give up my dreams of ultimate trading success. I'll either die rich or die...

It is IMPOSSIBLE to make money in the markets

Let me correct myself: there are no arbitrage opportunities that I've been able to find in the financial markets. What most "ARB" guys do is really not "GUARANTEED MONEY" with the exception of CONTANGO operations in oil which have costs associated with storing oil and etc....and after all such...
