    thinkorswim for stock trading?

I use AMTD, IBKR and TOS. They're all good and you can't go wrong with any. I use Fidelity too. I think what broker you use depends on what your strategy-vehicle is going to be. If you're active, I think I would go with IBKR. But for longer-term, I like TOS and Fidelity where I don't...

    IB is Refco 2.0!

    IB is Refco 2.0!

TP's decision to eat the losses is as transparent as they come... I just don't understand why?? Basically, if he owns 85% of the company, he's going to eat the losses one way or another. I assume by paying IB, he still wins if he's able to deduct it from taxes. I also assume his intention...

I Had To Do It: Poll - Who Thinks A Crash Is Near (1-4 months)?

To share my useless CFA information- and possibly be corrected on my misconception (please correct me before Dec): The number of ETF shares are not fixed, i.e. they are created/liquidated according to demand- so my impression is that the "hard to borrow" issue would not be as applicable as...

    IB accrued interest

What's worse is that every time I see someone criticize the confusing way they calculate interest, someone from IB describes in detail how clearly it is explained on their website. How about explaining it clearly on my monthly statement, i.e., attribute the interest charged to the day margin...

    fxsol vs oanda

I have observed the above in my limited experience also- and agree with gspaulsson. Besides, if the price gaps past your "limit" order, and doesn't fill, it becomes a market order at that time, and you "should" be getting the better price (sometimes I do, tho usually I get my limit price).

    fxsol vs oanda

...or limit orders partially filled - ignored - as the bid order rises past limit selling prices... but my experiences, while dubious at times, is generally satisfactory.

    IB: Unexecuted orders??? What's up???

this has happened to me at least 4-5 times in the past couple days going short or long in Naz stocks- bid or ask clearly has shares listed and my orders are NOT being executed. As we speak, my order is sitting on the market while the ask is at my requested price.

    Unethical Conduct by IB

I can see how this happened to traderguy- I have cancelled a number of orders, and it seems to take *forever* for that red light to appear, and for the order to disappear. I've never had a problem cancelling orders, but have felt the system is prone to this kind of error.
